Chefs Table at V&A??

I have a friend who is trying to book the Chefs Table for his next trip, but is completely booked. What are the chance of a cancellation or him getting in with another party??? Thanks for the help!!

I was told by an itinerary planner at AKL Concierge that cancellations for the Chef's Table basically NEVER happen. Of course there is always a chance...

The chance of getting in with another party is approximately zero! First thing is the people at reservations will not release name or phone information about a guest to anyone. Second is that going to CT usually is for a special occasion and I can't think of anyone who would want to share a table with unknowns during a special occasion.

I have some friends coming from Arizona May 30 to June 6. I called on December 10 for reservations within that time block and only two days were available within that date range.

Tell the friend to plan on it for a subsequent trip.

We had tried to get a booking at the Chef's Table for 2 previous trips before we finally landed an evening for our visit this January. All I can say is keep trying for this trip, and for future trips make the calls early. I called in July for possible nights in January, and only 1 evening was available, which I grabbed.

The entire evening is remarkable, well worth the wait and the cost. Your party, and no one else, is at the table, and the food, atmosphere, service, and interaction with the Chef's is a once in a lifetime event. The fact that it's you and your party is an important part of the evening, so I'd be very surprised if a group would be willing to add others.

In our case 4 hours and 13 courses!
