Chefs de France - a grand disappointment!

As I mentioned earlier in this thread, we have eaten lunch at Chefs de France for several years. This November, our lunch was not good. In the past, I have always ordered the tuna sandwich, which was large, and received a small salad and homemade chips. This year the sandwich was normal size and the side was 6 stale chips. All were served on a plain white plate with absolutely no salad and no color. Chefs de France is no longer on our "return to dine" list.

WOW we must be the oddballs here. We ate here the same week as you did and our experience was the exact opposite. They did however forget our cake and brought us an extra dessert for free. The food was so good it more than made up for everything. Our server was great and gave us suggestions to order. I was really nervous about eating here but all of us for our grand gathering loved the place. I remember reading it could be hit or miss at Chefs. Luckily we got a hit. It was loud but we were with kids so it made it more relaxing for us we didnt have to sush them up.

I hope your anniversary wasnt totally ruined.

I am really surprised to hear bad things about Le Chefs de France. We ate there last December during Christmas week and found the service, atmosphere, and food to be excellent. We even goofed on our reservations (we had the Candlelight Processional package) and got there a little later than we should have and they managed to get us in and out in time for the show. I found all of the staff to be extremely kind and professional. The service was outstanding and couldn't be beat anywhere. The food was also excellent. We plan on returning in the future until we have bad experiences there.

We just returned from 12 nights at WDW, and ate at Chefs twice. Both meals were excellent, and the service was excellent as well. This has always been the case over the past 20 years or so we have been dining there. Chefs has always had better service than many of the other theme park restaurants.

We ate at "Chefs" during our August 2007 visit and were all very, very surprised. Everyone enjoyed their meals (and let me tell you, with three sons, that's an amazing thing!) and every single person on staff was not only friendly, but outright wonderful.

However - I see that in the past four months they seem to have dropped the menu item that we enjoyed so much, which was a mushroom pork chop (pardon me, but I won't attempt the French name here). Can anyone confirm this?

If this is, in fact, the case, then I'm all on board with the popular sentiment, that Disney is making the menu far too "generic" across the board.
