Is it better for breakfast or dinner? If you have dinner there, can you see the Magic Kingdom fireworks?

We love Chef Mickey's for dinner. Loads of fun...Loads of food;)

The fireworks are best from the rooftop of the Contemporary. Floor 15 on the elevator, hang a left when you exit, and head outside. We usually eat around 7:00 in order ot make the 9:00 fireworks.

Enjoy.

We have been to Chef Mickeys three times in the last eight years.

I can say that the experience was consistent. The characters were fun, and the food was only so-so. Breakfast each time.

Actually each time the food has seemed to be less palatable. Not that is bad, but I would expect more of Disney. I fugure we were paying $10 for the character experience and $6 for the food which was about what it was worth. If you get caught up in the character experience, then you don't mind the average eating, but don't expect a gourmet experience.

DS thinks a trip to WDW isnt complete w/out a dinner at Chef Mickey's!

We had breakfast at Chef Mickey's on our last trip. While it was fun I think the breakfasts at Cape May Cafe and at Ohana's are better.

I can't compare breakfast to dinner since we have only eaten dinner there (4 times). We enjoy it. The character interaction has been good as well as the food although it is normal buffet food and we don't go there expecting gourmet food. We still always find more than enough to fill us up. As far as fireworks, no you can't see them from there. You can from the top floor as suggested but can anyone else verify that that deck mentioned is still open? I read a post somewhere that so many people were going to the top floor that they had stopped being able to go out on one of the decks but I don't know exactly which one they were speaking about. Maybe they meant they stopped people that weren't dining at Ca. Grill from going to the deck outside that restaurant???? Just curious - does anyone know????

Our gang has been there for breakfast and dinner. Both meals were good--quality and taste were average but the selection was great. Maybe I would choose breakfast just because you could turn it into a brunch--go about 10 or 10:30 and they will have breakfast as well as a carving station and ice cream machine! The best of both worlds! Fill up then you can just catch a light dinner later or go on the day that you leave.
Character interaction was good (I am a Minnie fan!)
This is (in my opinion) definitely better than Crystal Palace.
I have never tried 1900......Maybe this trip we will--sounds like it is getting good reviews.::MinnieMo

Epcotgal8-You are correct. There used to be a time when you didn't need reservations at California Grill to go up to the oberservation deck on the 15th floor. The deck used to be off the lounge/waiting area of the restaurant. But now they have put dining tables in that area. So I am assuming that the restaurant didn't like all of the non-restaurant people going through that area.
