I am reading many good things about Chef Mickeys. I was thinking of adding it in as a surprise for our trip in January, but was thinking of a 7-7:30 time slot. Are the characters still out then, as I see its open until 9 or 9:30pm. Also, will we be able to get disney transportation back to the A.S. Sports when we get out around 9:00pm. I just don't want to book it and then miss things because we aren't there in prime time, but we have a short trip planned and I don't want to cut our time in the parks short either. Thanks for info.

We had dinner there in January around 7:00 one night, and the characters were there and in full swing. We didn't really enjoy the food, but the characters were great.

Chef Mickeys is usually a hit for young ones because of the characters only. The food is just so-so!

We had PS for Chef Mickey's at 8:30pm last week and had a blast. We didn't feel rushed and the food was awesome. The characters were incredible and spent a lot of time with each table. My 1 year old DS loved to "bonk" Mickey & Minnie's nose...it was a great start to are perfect vacation.

As far as travel back to the resort, we stayed at the ASMo and took the monorail to the Magic Kingdom and then hopped on a Downtown Disney bus and then hopped on a All Star Bus. It worked out just fine.

My theory is the later the ressie the better because it will be less corwded so you will see the character's more frequently. As for transportation it all depends on what time the parks close. I am pretty sure the buses usually run 1 1/2 to 2 hrs after the park closes.
