I need to make adrs next month. I have never eaten @ CM. I have read alot of negative comments about it over the last year or so. Has anybody liked the food recently? It would be for dinner. Thanks

The reason to go to Chef Mickey's is the characters. If you are really into having some interaction with characters that is a little above what you get in in the parks, CM may be for you. For the food, I can't think of a place that wouldn't be an improvement over what CM serves(and most of those choices would be cheaper).:earsboy:

DH and I love Chef Mickey's. We go for breakfast ADRs though. We've never been for dinner. I agree with the previous poster though. We go for the characters. Its fun b/c we don't normally wait to see the characters in the parks.

The food isn't horrible or anything. It's just not super for the money you are paying, but the characters and environment are. I've found CM to be a hit or miss, mostly miss, but still fine. We went this past September twice. The first time the food was amazing. I was thrilled, so we went again later in the week per the kids request and because my parents would be joining us. It was not so great. I actually spoke to the chef(kindly) about it when he came to our table regarding allergies. I asked him why the menu was so great earlier in the week and then not so great typically. He said he can only fix what they send him and he has no heads up what that might be. That day they had sent him some "abnormal" produce and the menu reflected it. It was so good. At any rate, it's still not so bad, but really worth it for the character interaction. :thumbsup2

We went for dinner and did not think the food was that bad at all. It is buffet and they had carved meats, pizza, good kids items, good assorted fresh fruits and the dessert bar was really good ! It was not like we were grossed out and the kids loved that the characters came by for two full rotations during our meal

We went for dinner this past week. I was extremely nervous because of all the bad reviews I have read of the place being dirty, horrible food, etc. But my DD loves the MM Clubhouse so I knew she would have a blast with the characters. We were all pleasantly surprised at the food selection. It wasn't a vast array a la Boma or CP or anything, but we all really enjoyed what they had to offer. The character interaction was great (it was our first character meal). We all agreed that we would definitely be going back!

You will read good and bad reviews on every restaurant at Disney. One of the things you need to clear up in your mind beforehand is that you are paying for an experience at a character/signature restaurant. The food happens to be there.

We have had good and average experience of Chef Mickeys. Nothing awful and I would go back - it's just that there are other places I would rather eat right now - again, not because CM is bad, but because other places are 'better'. Bear in mind that my DD is now 8 so we are at that point where we are now dining primarily for the food and characters are secondary. This has been the other way around until now. It does depend what you are going for and what your expectations are.

It is not gourmet food, but it is fresh, hot and there is plenty of it. Enjoy your experience and take lots of photos. :goodvibes

We love CM and go every trip. I just asked DD last night where she wanted to eat for our upcoming trip this summer and her first response was Chef Mickeys! It is a great character experience. We always do dinner as we are not breakfast people and it wouldn't be worth the money for us. Plus we are always in the parks in the am! We go on our arrival night and then take a monorail ride afterwards. So fun!

I would never eat at CM again. The only reason to go there is for the characters. We went for dinner about a week ago. The selections were extremely limited, and the taste and food quality was poor. It you want to enjoy a meal, go elsewhere. If you need to see the specific characters that CM features, be aware that although the character interaction is great, the food is not worth the money.

We've eaten there four times with our last being in April and ADR for this coming May.

In my opinion, you are paying for the characters. Buffet food is buffet food. I find the CM, to better than our local buffets but expect it to be. At CM, we get a little of everything. Our family enjoys the shrimp and the dessert buffet; and of course the characters.

We had breakfast at CM in September and it was the best meal we had at Disney that week. The characters were a little rushed but the food was hot, awesome and there was lots of it.
