Chef Mickey's???

I am considering scheduling dinner plans for Chef Mickey's for our December trip.

What are your opinions of the restuarant, character interaction, food choices, and availability?

I also read somewhere about glowing ice cubes.. how do you go about buying these and what do they cost?

Consider reading the Restaurant Review board for that Chef Mickey's info. Often pictures are included. I've definitely seen photos from CM on this site.

check out allearsnet.com there are reviews over there, along with pics. I think you will find that Chef Mickey's is a must do for a lot of people... it is a diverse buffet, hard to go wrong, the characters follow a pattern and come around to every table, you can get pics and autographs. If you are going during christmas, you are probably out of luck on getting a reservation at this point, early december would still be available.

Never have done the glow cubes.

We ate supper there last December!!! It is an awesome place to eat. Definitely on our list of repeats!!!!!

The food and the characters were great..

We've done breakfast there three times... and have an ADR for dinner there in December. We Chef Mickey's!

The food is O.K., the atmoshphere is great! Def. a must do at least once It is a truly Disney experience!

As for the ice cubes, they come in soda and I beleive they are like $8.00 or so for the drink. You can turn them off and on and take them home with you!

I can't remember if you could get the ice cubes at Chef Mickey's or not. We got ours at Hollywood and Vine, but I think they're pretty widely available. They seem to last forever, too. We've had ours for well over two years!

We were there in April this year and everything was great. Our 3 years old DD love the ice cream station. We are going again this christmas and we will dine at chef Mickey again. We got our glowing ice cube at the 50's prime time and $8 seems right.

We tried for years to get in here (we do a lot of last minute trips) and finally scored in Oct 06. It was my birthday and they decorated the table with a birthday placemat and Mickey confetti.

We took our 2 nieces with us on that trip, we ate here before heading to MNSSHP so the girls were dressed in their Minnie Mouse costumes. I got a great picture of them with the real Minnie. The characters were awesome, we saw Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Chip and Dale...they spent alot of time with everyone and came around to the tables often. The handlers were really good about making sure all the guest got to visit with each character.

The food was another matter, it was gross. The kids (3 and 10) said the pizza was cold, chicken tenders were hard, mac and cheese yucky and the ravilois had too much sauce. The rolls were hard, the butter was never replenished, the soup was cold and the salad items wilted. The prime rib and potatoes were the only good thing there. Thank goodness I ordered a b-day cake because the dessert items were blech! We went at 5:30 so the food should have been fresh...the place was super busy too.

I would try this place for breakfast because it is a really cute place to dine.

We liked it best for breakfast also. We made ADR's for opening so it wasn't crowded at all, it just started to get CRAZY as we were leaving.

I have to disagree with the previous poster who complained that the food was gross! We really enjoy it--our adr is for our third visit there. It is the 1 place we've eaten at on every trip--a must-do according to our kids!
We really enjoyed the food and the desserts are abundant and delicious. Not saying that it's gourmet food by any means but very good anyway. Hope you enjoy it!

We haven't done dinner there so can't comment on that - but have done breakfast twice before - and we love it - the food is excellent and the character interaction is really good too. It's a definite must-do for our family -and we have booked it again for our last day for our trip this August.

c/m is a really fun place to eat. one thing that i did notice though (and im not sure why I didnt think about it before-was the birds flying around. they didnt bother me or my family but for some reason i never thought about them until I actually saw them flying around. The food was ok. general stuff. we went for lunch during free dining last year.

Definitely a must do!

The food is ok - nothing special but not terrible. Pretty much standard buffet food.

However, the character interaction is great and the atmosphere is so much fun! We got to meet the big five (mickey, minnie, donald, pluto and goofy)!

I think we are going to try breakfast next time to see if the food is better but we wouldn't miss going to CM's! DD loves it!

I made the adr for our first night we arrive. I was suprised I was able to book so easy. Reading these boards made me doubt I had a chance..so I had 3 nights picked and the 1st one was a winner.
