Checking out the current menu prices on all ears and Chef Mickeys breakfast is up to 35 bucks. This includes tax but geesh. I would never pay that. But I guess they have to justify the ddp prices.

Same here...For our family of 5 (disney adults) Chef Mickeys would have cost us $200 (Allears has the price listed s $40 per adult). That's why we passed it up last month. I booked it but I just could not justify spending that much on a dinner even with Mickey Mouse!

I just checked on H&V breakfast, we paid 24.99 per adult and 13.99 per child last year, this year it looks like it'll be 30.88 and 17.03 this year :( Then if I go to the individual listing on All Ears it shows 26.99 and 14.99....wonder which one it is?

Is it me or did Cape May dinner go up as well. $42.59 for an adult. WOW thank heavens we are on the dining plan this year. Otherwise this trip would break the bank.

I had reservations there for my dd's sweet 16. We were staying at BLT and wanted to do 1 character breakfast since one of the girls had never been to Disney before, but with the 6 of us it would be close to $250 for breakfast - even with our TIW card! My dd understood that I would not pay that for breakfast and she decided to go to Boma (her fav) instead. We had an amazing time at Boma. Jenny the chef prepared us Tonga Toast with fresh whipped cream/strawberries and raspberries and our server brought us tons of Frunch (my dd's favorite juice ever) and even cups to go for us to bring to Animal Kingdom. I think we had a better time there, even if Mickey wasn't there. Unless they drop the prices at Chef Mickey's, our days of eating there are over :sad2:

I guess the prices of those is the reason we do the dining plan...I LOVE the character buffets, but thats me....For us its worth it to do the DDP.

We have 1900 Park fare, Hoop dee doo Review , Crystal Palace and Chef Mickeys booked this trip! Love not having to worry about the $$.

The prices are now so high because Disney wants you to buy a dining plan... it makes it seem like it's such a good value when really they are just upping the prices but food quality etc. are no better than before.

you are right -if you check out Easter Dinner I think it was 29.81 in 2011...I am thinking it will be close to $45 this Easter...I love CMC but $200 for 4 people is what I pay at CG.

We wouldn't ever even consider doing Disney without the dining plan! For us it is just worth it. All of the prices went up, not just the buffets.

As long as these restaurants remain full, the price is not too high. Yes, I know many are on DDP, but the price of *that* keeps going up too...

FWIW, I think the buffet prices listed on all ears right now are "holiday" prices. I don't know the exact dates of "holiday" (or whatever they call it) pricing, but I'm pretty certain all of July is included in it. I want to say it's an additional $5 per adult.

This last trip we skipped a Chef Mickey's reservation due to the price and ate in the room. It feels like the food pricing is going up, but the quality is dropping.

Holiday pricing was all of July until Aug. 13th. It's been over for several weeks, but All Ears and WDWinfo aren't able to keep up with updating their websites in a timely manner, so you have to do your research on here, or call Disney directly.

Holiday pricing is $4.00/adult plus tax, and $2.00/child plus tax.

All Disney buffets go up each January by a couple of bucks as well. You should be able to call for 2012 pricing now, as 180 days for ADRs would take you into March.

Hope this helps, Tiger

It certainly sucks for anyone living here. We pay OOP because we only live an hour away and don't stay the night. I don't know much about the DDP other than we cant get it if not staying there. I always wondered how the heck y'all afforded it. With 5 in our family, I doubt we'll ever eat at a sit down restaurant there. It makes me sad because I would love to try them. But at over $200 a dinner, I guess they aren't meant for locals. :(

We snack all day. This is a LOT cheaper if you pay OOP. Most bakeries have sandwiches for z$6

if you're paying out of pocket you could eat at TS restaurants like the Sci Fi - the prices there are still reasonable and the food's pretty good.

disney is definitely pricing for the DDP - they've also raised the prices of many of the snacks....$3.69 for a tiny little frozen coke is ridiculous....but it doesn't feel so bad when you pay with a snack credit....but i'll never buy one out of pocket anymore...

We have been to Chef Mickey's twice - once in 2009 (free dining plan) and once in 2008 (paid for DP). The first time we went the kids were smaller and had a good time, but DH and I were disappointed with Mickey stopping quickly at our table and seemed to be in a rush to move on. The second time we went the kids had asked to go back so we did, figuring our first time was just an exception, but no. Mickey only stopped briefly to sign the books and one photo. The food was only ok both times. The kids were disappointed this time too and we decided as a family we wouldn't be back. I should mention Donald was awesome both times.:rolleyes1

The best character breakfast we have been to was hands down the supercalifragilistic breakfast at GF! Tons of characters, lots of time with them and although Mary Poppins was great - the Mad Hatter was the best! The food was awesome too!!! We would go back in a heartbeat!!! I would pick this over Chef Mickey's any day and see Mickey in the park.
