Hi-
I looked on WDWIG and it doesn't list Chef Mickey's as a character meal. Is that correct? I know they serve breakfast with the characters.

Also, if you've had dinner there, did you like it?

Yes dinner is a character meal. We saw MIckey, Minnie, Chip and Dale and Donald (maybe Goofy too) We ate there our first night in town on our last trip and loved it! Our girls can't wait to go back on our trip this year. We thought food was good - there was an area with kid friendly choices and then we had salad, prime rib, shrimp and other goodies!

Chef Mickey's character dinner is always on our list of must do's, the buffet is terrific even with a toddler and a picky 5 year old.

Chef Mickey's is always the dinner we have our first night at WDW. We love the food and the character interaction. Plenty of photo opportunities and you can take your time. The food is great for both kids and adults and we think it is amongst the best at WDW.

As with many other WDW restaurants they offer to take your photo before the meal here. We have taken it 3 times over the last 6 years and now we compare them to see how much we have changed over the years. While I am not all that interested to see how I've changed, LOL, I love looking at how the kids have grown. Makes me happy and sad at the same time.

Chef Mickey's only serve breakfast or dinner, both with characters, last time we saw Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Donald. Food is good and there is lots of character interaction.

We like Chef Mickey's, this is usually our first night meal. We've seen Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Daisy and Chip and Dale. I guess Daisy is a pretty rare one to see, but we've got lucky, she's been there everytime for us.

I was a little disappointed with Chef Mickey's. The food selection wasn't to my liking. They didn't seem to have anything "lighter" to eat.

The characters are top-notch. Last time I went, I did Crystal Palace dinner, 'Ohana breakfast, and Chef Micky's dinner. CP had the best food, and CM had the best characters.

We always do dinner at Chef Mickey's our first night. We have seen Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale on all three trips and Donald on the last two. We feel it gets us in the mood for the whole vacation and the kids get to take pictures with and get autographs from a bunch of the characters right off the bat. Less we have to search for later in the week. ;)
The food is also pretty good, the desserts are always very good. This year we found the food better than last year, the year before that was very good also.

Okay, I have to offer my two cents here. I actually felt ill for most of the evening after eating at Chef Mickey's (not to the point of actually losing bodily fluids--lol!--but close). I'd read twice before that people had gotten sick eating the shrimp...while I know these are rare instances, somehow it stayed in my mind and I couldn't bring myself to try them. SO, I ate the prime rib, parmesan potatoes, etc. and toppped it off with the chocolate mousse. In short, can we say over-indulgence of super-rich foods?!?! I'd simply warn you to be aware of what foods you're piling on your plate.
On the other hand, the character interaction was FANTASTIC!!! My 7 yo old son still talks about it and I'm more than willing to give it another try. My son really loves Mickey and it would be hard to beat Chef Mickey's for that experience!

Both breakfast & dinner are character meals at Chef Mickey's.

Dined here for dinner last year and never again. It was the WORST meal I've ever had at WDW!! The food was awful and it was a total waste of money. Not even a free dinner would get me back there.

Breakfast is pretty good, but not dinner.

wdwig.com does list Chef Mickey's under character meals and under menus as a character buffet.

We are trying the breakfast for the first time this year. We ate dinner for several years, but not is is getting too expensive

Even though the picture packages can be expensive, you can get a refigerator magnet with a small picture for $4.00. I have one from 2001, 2002 and this year and it really shows how my niece and nephew have grown. They are in the same position for all the pictures for the first one the tops of their heads were about even with the fork and spoon, last year their chins were about even with the tops of the fork and spoon and this year their chins are about two or three inches above the fork and spoon. It is really a neat chronicle to have on the refrigerator (because of course I don't have any other pictures of them, not).
