I just got back from a last minute trip with a friend. She was a newbie and had never been to WDW before and wanted to do a character meal. Since we were planning to be in the MK ALL day (short trip, lots to see) I thought it might be a nice break to monorail over to Chef Mickey's for lunch. She was interested in checking out a character meal with the main characters.....I don't like the Pooh characters and hate LTT for dinner. I called for about 3 weeks every day or two trying to get a lunch or dinner reservation (she isn't a big bfast eater) and nothing.

I figured it was worth a try to do a walk in there, so we monorailed over there about noon. They weren't accepting check ins yet for lunch, but the lady told us to check back at 12:15 (lunch starts at 12:30). We poked around the shop and checked in at 12:15. Our buzzer went off and we were seated right at 12:30.

So, if you are trying to get Chef Mickey's and can't try stopping by right at 12:15 and you might be able to get in :goodvibes

Thanks for the tip! Chef Mickey's usually doesn't serve lunch. They only open it for lunch during high occupancy times and during Free Dining, which is this week..

Thanks for the info. Can you please tell me what was on the menu? was is BBQ fare or basically what they serve for dinner? Thanks for any info u can provide.

Yup. I just wanted to let all the Free diners and last minute trippers here know they might have a chance to get in here for lunch during the next month or so if they couldn't get ADR's any other time.

It seemed pretty similar to the dinner menu. They had carved turkey as the main meat. There were a few pasta's, hot veggies, salmon, beans, mickey ravioli, cheddar potatoes and a lot of cold salads. Nice array of desserts too!

I'll be there Monday afternoon for a 12:45 ADR. Was the construction noise very very loud?

It was VERY loud at check in and pictures, but at our table we didn't hear any noise.

Just make sure you know that the monorail from the gate is not open from 12-3 due to the construction so you have to take the ferry boat to the TTC then hop on the monorail to the resort
