Last time we went to WDW was in July 2010. All 10 of us went to Chef Mickey's for dinner, when it opened, and we all loved it. We enjoyed the food (our expectations were that it would be standard buffet fare, not gourmet food), loved the character interaction, and the service was great...all despite it being very crowded there. We all want to return to Chef Mickey's, and the rest of the family had told me that they liked the dinner so much last time, they want to do it again.

We go back to WDW the last week of July 2012. Is Chef Mickey's dinner the same as it was when we went? Or has it changed, either for the better or has it gotten worse? Do they have the same type of food? I remember different salads, the parmesan mashed potatoes, a carving station with beef, turkey tettrazini, some kid friendly options, and a very nice dessert bar.

Or...I was thinking that maybe we should go to Chef Mickey's for breakfast this time instead. DH, the boys and I had gone there for breakfast on our 2008 trip and we enjoyed it very much. Is breakfast much better than dinner? If we go for breakfast, it would be our last morning right before heading out.

I couldn't vote because neither was not an option. I've never had good food or interaction at CM.

We prefer TS meals for lunch or dinner, so we'd definitely go dinner. We feel like breakfast infringes on our early-morning, RD touring. We also stay CL, so we have breakfast in the lounge every morning. Finally, some members of our party prefer little-no breakfast...

We have done both and prefer breakfast over dinner. Breakfast is crowded but does not seem NEARLY as bad as dinner, especially if you can go early in the morning. The resort is not up an moving around yet, so if you can go early you avoid the people who are coming and going from their rooms. Plus more people go for dinner than breakfast in my opinion.

In fact we just reserved our breakfast for 10 this morning. Breakfast moves a little quicker, plus you can then get to the MK for the day. 180 days from today we will be at Chef Mickey's for Breakfast!! I can't wait! :cool1:

for breakfast because that's what always do. We haven't done dinner.

CM breakfast is our last meal at WDW every trip. We used to eat around 10:00 and then head to DTD for last minute shopping. A couple of trips ago, I messed up the initial ADR and we ended up with an 11:25 ADR and moved DTD to earlier in the morning.

The later time was a better overall experience with much better character interaction and we scheduled an 11:15 ADR for the last trip. It's a nice end to the trip.

Breakfast, because the food at CM is just so-so IMHO, and breakfast is the lesser of two evils. Character interaction has always been great for us, it's just the food that leaves us wanting.

Thanks for the replies!

If we do breakfast, it would be the last morning of our trip, and we're not going to a theme park that day, so no worries about getting to a park for rope drop or anything like that. Also, we're driving, so no worries about making it to the airport to catch a flight.

If we do dinner there, it would be on the DHS day, after doing lunch at 50s Prime Time. I would prefer to do dinner at 50s Prime Time, and the CM breakfast on the last morning of our trip. I hope I can convince my sister!

We have only been for breakfast and have heard that the food an dinner is not good. For breakfast, it is fine...definitely better buffets in disney, but there is something for everyone. Plus, that would be a fun way to end your trip, so I vote breakfast!

I would definitely do it for breakfast then. We did the same thing when we went in 09 and I thought it was a great way to say goodbye to Disney.
