Hi everyone,

Hubby and I currently have an ADR for Chef Mickey's for dinner and now I am starting to wonder if we should do breakfast instead. Which one do you prefer?

I say breakfast because we did dinner at CM once and while the characters were awesome the food was terrible. We are going to give breakfast a try next week

I've done breakfast every trip in the last few years with 2 adults and enjoyed it everytime. I especially like the early morning reservations, although they can be a little nerve racking to get to use the busses, as you can see the sun coming up over the castle :goodvibes

I like both meals and don't think you can go wrong with either, but I have to give breakfast a slight edge. In general, we just enjoy breakfast foods more and it's rare for us to get a full breakfast in our day-to-day lives.

I'm a big breakfast fan anyway, but I feel that with the character dining, breakfast is the better option. When I'm eating dinner, I want to be able to sit and relax and eat without interruption. With breakfast, if you take time to chat with characters, the food is usually still just as good when you get back to it. With dinner, I want fresh and hot - nothing that sits around.

Chat with the characters? Characters don't talk

I only voted for dinner because that is the only CM we have done. On our upcoming trip I had planned (and got an ADR for breakfast) until I had to switch around the dates and they no longer had an opening for the dates that we will be there :sad2: . But to go back to your question, the dinner was very good, especially the huge dessert bar. I would guess the breakfast would be equally as good....Have fun whatever you decide.

For those who have attended both, are they both equally crowded?

For the most part...yes. CM is a popular place, in fact a cast member recently told me it's WDW's busiest character dining restaurant.

We prefer breakfast over dinner. The food is better then, in our opinion. We also feel our kids eat better in the morning vs at dinner, so for us, we enjoy breakfast more and feel it's a better value! ;)

Dinner was ok. Only because of the characters. We have a 20month old DS, characters didn't make first stop until 64 minutes into the meal. Yes, I counted.

Food itself was lacking, tasteless. Desserts only ok. Not worth the $30 pp.

Nothing to worry if you can't eat or get ADR. Use the Disney Chase card at Epcot. Character experience is much better!!! Justin

Here at WDW now.

We did the breakfast in October 2008 and everyone on the trip loved it! Character interaction was great, our kids ate plenty of breakfast foods, and the adults enjoyed it so much that it was my Dad's first choice when talking about where we want to go in September! Also it was a very "high-energy" meal, very upbeat, music, etc. that got us going for the day.

Breakfast without a doubt. We did the breakfast 4-5 times (can't remember) and dinner twice. The food at dinner tasted like something from a school cafeteria. We also had better character interaction at breakfast time.

I vote for breakfast. We were there for dinner and it was terrible...not worth the money.

I totally agree!

Yes, they are both crowded. We did have to wait slightly longer for our table for breakfast, but it is going to be crowded no matter when you go.

I'm interested in this. We've only done the breakfast. How is the dinner?

The dinner isn't as good as the breakfast. We prefer breakfast, plus, it's a great way to start your day! :)

We loved the dinner. Thought the food was good, considering it was a buffet. We eat at 'regular' type restaurants, nothing fancy. Guess it depends on your taste. The characters were around throughout our meal, I was actually glad to get a break so we could eat!

We have done both Breakfast and Dinner. It just depends what we have planned park wise for that day. Both are equally crowded. I guess if I had to choose between the two I would say Breakfast only because you don't have to leave a park or any activities to get there and it is a great way to start the day.

The food is not gourmet at either time of the day. Breakfast is standard buffet food. Nothing to really make it stand out over the other Breakfast buffets. Dinner can be hit or miss. Sometimes good and other times boderline.

Lets face it, you are really going for the character action and we think that CM has the best of all the buffets. :goodvibes
