We would like to go to Chef Mickeys on my son's birthday. Should we book the breakfast or dinner seating? Do they do all the "fun" stuff others talk about at both meals or just the dinner? Thanks!

The singing and napkin waving is done at both meals. Id pick depending what fits your scheudle for that day and which menu appeals to you most. FWIW, we love breakfast there. :)

I think the food is better at breakfast. On our last trip to CM last year, dinner was not great, and the service area was really sloppy and unappealing.

On a general note, I think character breakfasts are better than dinners for many families, simply because they are not worn out by the day's activities and have more enthusiasm for the character interaction. We always seem to see more people having fun at breakfast than at dinner.

We had dinner there on my DS's birthday. They brought out a small mickey shaped cake. He loved it!! By the way that was when he turned 1 so he just played in it. The characters came out and watched him have fun!! :)

I am not sure what they would bring out for breakfast. You could call ahead and ask.

Have a great time!!! :)

We ate breakfast there on my nieces birthday and they brought her out a cupcake with a candle in it. I believe we were told they dont do cakes for breakfast, but that was almost 5 years ago so the policy may have changed.

When or how did you let them know you were there for a birthday? We'll be there for a birthday in June and I'd like it to be a surprise. Thanks.

We celebrated DS birthday at Chef Mickey's April/04. We let them know when we made PS's that he was celebrating a birthday. This was for dinner.

They brought out a cupcake with a candle in it. :wizard:

We went there for breakfast and the food was great! We also told them about the birthday when making the PS.

Matts&JakesMom:

Did you pay extra for the Cake? We are going in June & I did note in the PS about our Birthday Boy. :cheer2:

I did not pay extra for the cake. I am thinking they did this because he was a year old. This was 8 years ago. I did not request it. All I remember doing was when we got there, was tell them that it was his 1st birthday. One of the prior post indicates that they do a cupcake. I am sure that if you want a cake just ask and find out if there is a charge (which I am sure there may be). :)

We have PS for breakfast on my son's birthday. We mentioned when we made the reservations, and they gave us this number to call ahead and order a cake.
