I have an epic surprise planned for the family next Friday.....we were planning on driving all weekend and checking into Beach Club on Sunday but I found amazingly cheap flights on Jet Blue and so we are flying (but they don't know that yet!)

We arrive in MCO at 7:30, will rent a car and head straight to the contemporary to see the 9pm fireworks from the BLT Lounge......soooooo I found a reservation for Chef Mickey's at 9:20 and we would for sure get there closer to 9:30 :( What do you guys think? will our party of 9 be turned away at that time of night? I am not even sure how late they are open.

Any help/advice/experience would be appreciated!

Be aware that you aren't allowed to park when visiting the TOTWL. You must use Disney transportation to get there.

Don't do it. If your flight is delayed at all you will miss it and it's a pricey ADR to miss

Flights are delayed, a friend landed on time this past week but couldn't deplane for an hour due to a medical emergency

Have a stress free first night vs over planned stressed timing night :)

The larger the group, the longer it takes to get from one point to another so even if your flight lands on time, by the time you de-plane, pick up your luggage and the rental car, install the car seat and drive to the CR, an hour and a half probably won't be enough time to get to the TOTWL for fireworks. You might make it in time for your Chef Mickey's reservation, but the restaurant closes at 9:30 according to the dining reservation page so if your flight is delayed you will not make it before closing and you will be charged as a no show which would be $90 for your party of 9. With the time constraint I would not book a table service restaurant for the arrival night.

Are the fireworks at 9? The fire works last 15 mins???? I'm guessing the time, I've seen them many times, but never timed them. BUT then it takes at least 20=25 to get an elevator back down. And then of course the walk from BLT over the Chef Mickey is a few more mins.

It sounds like a lovely idea, but I would be looking at my watch constantly and not enjoying the fireworks , wondering why we have the slowest elevation in the world, and why can't we squeeze another 50 people in each elevator.

I don't know IF this is possible, but when you get off the elevator can you check for any seating at Mickey's. Are they still crowded at 9:30? I'd hate to lose that $90. I'd rather plan to get something from the CS and think maybe there is a tiny chance to get into Chef Mickey's.
