HI
I'd like to know since I went to eat at chef mickey quite a while ago ( 4 years ago ) what I didnt like then was there was birds in the restaurant back then:eek: ( I have quite a phobia of birds ) I did like the characters buffet but the bird factor was a turnoff for me ..
is it still the same ?
we have friends who will be in wdw for the 1st time and I'd like to go there ( they have kids ) but don.t see myself sitting on the edge of my seat the whole dinner:eek:
thanks

My advice - don't go to the Contemporary at ALL then. It has wide openings where the monorail runs through it and birds will always be able to get in the building. I'd also avoid eating outside for that matter, as well.

Yes, it's the same. There are open areas in the building for the monorail to pass through. Sometimes, birds get in.

yep, Contemporary still has birds. Unavoidable since they have the openings for the monorail.

I don't recall any birds, however, what the other posters said is true. There are openings for the monorails to go thru- birds will follow.

We love Chef Mickey's and I've never noticed birds, except for Donald Duck of course! LOL.. I really wouldn't let that fear spoil your meal at a fun restaurant. If you don't like birds though definitely avoid walking around the parks with food in your hands. On our last visit in April, there was a man walking in front of us at EPCOT with a soft pretzel in his hand and a gull swooped down and grabbed it right out of his hand! Everyone around him, including the man himself, had a pretty good laugh about it. :rotfl2:

Be grateful it's not monkeys! When DH and I were in India, Monkeys were near many tourist sites and would snatch food right from your hands. LOL.

The birds flying around over our heads & our plates grossed me out too. We all know what birds do when they fly... :rolleyes1

The only time I ever see birds flying around in there has always been in the morning or afternoon and never at night, so hopefully that would make you feel better about going there. Plus when I have seen them it's usually 1 or 2 of them flying around so it's not a huge number of them.

Ohhh, yuck! I never thought of that, ughhhh. So Chef Mickey's is the open? We ate at the wave without any sight of birds as we walked around the contemporary.
