Chef Mickey Dinner -- Fireworks visible?

I just booked an 8:30 pm dinner for a Sunday night in December. It's a Christmas Party night and we're not going to the party that night. I'm wondering if we will be able to see the fireworks from the Contemporary if we are dining at Chef Mickey's? Has anyone done this? I can't find information as to what time the fireworks are on a Christmas party night, so not even sure if with the timing of our dinner this is possible?

Thanks!

PS- Apologies if someone sees this twice. I accidentally posted this in the wrong forum before!

I dont see how the fire works are visible unless you are seated in the 5% of tables that are in the back of chef mickeys that have the windows but thats not a likely scenario bc thats only like 1 row of tables. And even if you are seated there I'm not sure how good of view you would get of the fireworks.

you can not see anything from Chef Mickey. There is an observation deck on the 4th floor (maybe 3 whatever floor the stores are on) that anyone is free to use.. be aware this is also the smoking section. You can also sit in front of BLT there are some benches and they also pipe in the music... less crowded I think a better view and you will not have jam yourself into the corner of the deck. People also go out on the fire escape stairs and stand on the platforms on all floors with rooms but no music.

I guess I wasn't thinking of being able to see the fireworks while we were eating but afterwards from somewhere if the timing worked out (not sure what time the fireworks are at during the Christmas party and if we'd be done eating in time to see). I've never dined at Chef Mickey's and don't even know what the views from the Contemporary back to the MK are like.

You can watch the fireworks from the resort, but not from the restaurant. You would REALLY have to hustle through a very expensive dinner to be positioned on the observation deck beneath the monorail to be able to see Wishes at 9:30. My advice would be to move up your ADR at least 30 minutes or opt for Contempo Cafe (quick service) insetad.

Thank you! I might try and move it up if I can find an earlier cancellation. Our goal wasn't to see the fireworks but it seemed like it would be a nice added bonus for our kids. We arrive in Orlando on Sunday afternoon and had not planned on Chef Mickey for dinner. I saw the 8:30 come up so I snagged it thinking it would be a nice welcome for my 3 and 5 year old kids on their first visit to Disney. We're actually planning on a later night in MK and seeing the regular Wishes then.

The christmas party fireworks are really nice and if you can move the ADR it's certainly an added bonus for sure. But, I wouldn't rush through my dinner experience for it.

Thank you again! Like I said before we hadn't planned on an ADR the first night but when I saw this one come up I thought the kids would be tickled to meet Mickey and the gang right away and make them feel like they were really in Disney World. If I can get an earlier ADR and see the Christmas Wishes fireworks from the Contemporary it would be icing on the cake!

Fireworks for MNSSHP are at 10:15 so not sure if they have posted MVMCP fireworks time yet. If they are at 10:15 you should be ok - might be cutting it close depends on how long it takes them to seat you.

Last year's MVMCP fireworks were 9:30. So I would say unlikely to be done with an 8:30 CM even if seated on time.

Thanks, I'm going to try and move earlier, but really the fireworks would just be icing on the cake as the main goal is dinner with mickey and friends. You say "even if" seated on time. Does CM have a tendency to seat late? This is my first trip in a long time and the first where I've booked ADRs so I don't have much experience with the timeliness of the restaurants in seating folks.

By 8:30, odds are good on being seated late.

Wish there was a dislike button! So is reservation seating running late a CM problem or a general problem throughout all of WDW?
It happens at many places, truthfully. An ADR isn't so much an appointment as a placeholder for next available table after X time.

Thanks for the insight. I will have to cross my fingers and toes that our waits to be seated aren't long!
