We are ending up having a free day on Monday the 16th and I would really like to take the kids to Chef Mickey for breakfast but don't have a reservation. I was wondering what type of wait there might be if we just went anyway? Would we be able to get in at all? Maybe if we waited a bit and went around 10 instead do you think that might help?

Also, if anyone reading this has a res for that day they don't want, I have a 7pm res on the 14th and 11am res on the 19th that I can trade. We won't be using these after all since we will be inside the parks.

I would suggest calling WDW-Dining everyday until the 16th because going to Chef Mickey's without an ADR is a huge gamble. My best advice if you can't get an ADR is to arrive there when they open right at 7:00 AM, because that's what others have said to do.

Your only chance, and it's a slim one, is to be there right when they open and hope they can squeeze you in.

WDW restaurants don't hold tables for walk-ups. If they're fully booked (and character meals usually are, months in advance), they'll just politely turn you away.

I'd recommend continuing to try for a reservation.

I called everyday up until our trip and never was able to get anything. But I called on the morning as we were headed to MK on the bus and I got a ressie that someone had just cancelled. So don't give up hope! I wouldn't try to get in without one though........
