Chef Mickey amid construction

Just curious -- I know the Contemporary is under construction. Has this affected Chef Mickey's at all? Is there scaffolding every where?

We will be at WDW for my son's first birthday and I wanted to go to Chef Mickey's to celebrate, but don't want to be in a construction zone for his first birthday and would choose a different restaurant if this is the case.

Anyone have any info?

Thanks!

From the pictures I've seen its one of the wings that is having work done on it not the main building. Chef Mickeys should be completely uneffected as its actually not got that many windows (only on the one side) and the construction isn't happening to the main section - someone please correct me if I'm wrong on this one

We went twice in October, and never saw any construction at or from the restaurant.

Go and enjoy!

The construction for the new shops is on the other side of the building right now - or at least a couple of week ago. I don't believe it would affect Chef Mickeys at all

We were just there for breakfast last week & the construction on that floor is at the other end - can't see it from Chef Mickey's. Also didn't hear any type of noise.

The only thing that did bother me there was the amount of birds - we were on the end next to Concourse Steakhouse & they kept sitting on top of the metal designs above our table & going down on the ground to eat the crumbs. I was kind of grossed out when they were above us - I was worried about what might land on my food. Last year we were in the back room & didn't see any, so I don't know if they're always there or if it was a rare occurance.

We were there last week in the back room and we only saw a couple of very small birds!

I remember birds in there back in Sept 2004, and they were there still in Oct 2007. They didn't really bother me, I thought they were kind of cute actually.

Just back yesterday from WDW. We ate at Chef Mickey's last Wednesday day night. There was no evidence on construction going on inside the Resort. The only construction we saw was outside to the left rear side of the building. There was scaffolding, a crane and some construction going on. We only saw it because of the monorail ride over to the resort. Otherwise, once inside, everything was as usual. We couldn't hear any construction either. I would absolutely recommend this for your son's first birthday. It is my favorite character meal. The food was great, as were the characters. I am sure you will not be diappointed! We had a blast!:wizard:
