Is Chef Mickey’s during the pandemic at dinner worth it? Will be going with a 10 year old and 2 year old. The dinner menu leaves me wondering if we should just skip Chef Mickey’s this trip but wanting others opinions. We had the family-style breakfast back in February and it was just ok.

We’ve been sniped on reservations on our past two trips, but based upon everything I’ve read, the food isn’t much to write home about even pre-COVID. You’re going to see the characters, while eating some mediocre food.

Leaving my review from tonight.

Food came out quickly
Server was fantastic
Actually, surprisingly, loved our meal.
I tried everything too. :)
Considering our poor Ohana experience lastnight, who would have ever thunk Chef Mickey's would crush Ohana? 🤷‍♀️
As always, YMMV!!

I'm glad you enjoyed it, thanks for the review! I've watched a few vlogs and the food looked actually quite decent, especially the gnocchi.

I'm still trying to get a Chef Mickey's dinner for my trip coming up in a few weeks. I had a 9:30PM, but finally accepted the reality that it just wasn't going to work for my almost three year old. She would have been able to stay up that late, but the next day probably wouldn't go very well.

We got a last minute (day before) reservation and loved Chef Mickey’s last month. Food was delicious, CMs were friendly, and food came fast. My daughter lit up seeing all the characters dancing and waving. It was a memorable experience!

When we were there in June I noticed that CM was possible to walk up if you went early as soon as they opened. Usually around 5:00/5:30 they wait was only 5 min. on the app.
P.s. we went for dinner our first night and really enjoyed the meal. While we missed the variety of the buffet, it was nice not to have to get up and everything was really good—a few things better than other, but overall we enjoyed everything.

We went for dinner in June (all adults, but we had a first-timer and we wanted him to experience a character meal). The food was solid - not signature quality, but tasty. The gnocchi was very good. You are definitely paying for the characters, but that's the case at most/all of the character meals.

We were there in June 21. We thought the variety of food was good. It wasn't anything special. It is highly overpriced at $60 per adult, but that it was you have to pay to see the characters. the staff was great.

IMO, character meals will not be worth it until they actually hug and pose for photos with you like they used to pre covid. You can see the characters in the parks in the various cavalcades. There are also characters up on the train station platform in MK at opening. No need to pay excessive money for a character meal to see the characters from afar when you can do that in the parks for no extra charge.

In our experience, Ohana dinner went downhill about five years ago. The breakfast there is okay.

Yes the monorail goes through the interior of the Contemporary where Chef Mickeys is.
