Never been to France - but have been to Le Cellier (although it's been awhile)

Many remarks on this board have been negative toward Le Cellier - I think because its popularity; perhaps the food and/or service has suffered?

I have time to make ressies at either but don't want to do both.

Thanks for the help!

I don't know if I will be much help because we like both although we prefer Chefs du France for lunch. Le Cellier is a must do for us every trip. Our last trip was the end of August 2008 and it was one of our favorite meals of the trip!

We plan to do both next trip. I would say that if you haven't been to Chefs, why not try that one? I would love one day to be able to say that I have been to eat at every Disney restaurant!

We ate at both on our last trip in December and I can honestly say both meals were excellent, but I prefered Le Cellier the best. The menu offered more options than at CDF and the pretzel sticks and soup were awesome. Atmosphere at both was more upscale but LC was only one credit on the DDP! Well worth it. Everyone in our party thought the meal at LC was the best of our trip!

The first time in my life I sent food back to the kitchen was at Chef de France last year. Maybe it was a bad night but my salamon was ice cold. I might add that it was less cold the second time around but still cold. We will not eat there again ever.

I'm excited about going to Le Cellier this trip, it is our first time and looking forward to it.

Is Chef de France more than 1 TS credit? I thought it was just 1 as well.

We ate at both on our last trip and the consensus was that Chefs de France was better for us. They had more of a variety. While Le Cellier might have more options on the menu, the majority of the choices are beef. There are several beef options on Chefs' menu, but more non-beef options that appeal to more people. My MIL got the chicken at Chefs and said it was the best chicken she had ever had. I got the macaroni and cheese and it was great. FIL got the short ribs, DH the tenderloin, and both loved them. The desserts were fantastic! I got smores at Le Cellier and they made me sick, literally. So I might be kind of biased, the ending kind of ruined the whole meal for me, lol.

Both are excellent restaurants IMO, but Le Chefs has magnificent escargot and Le Cellier has beer cheese soup as well as Moosehead ---- hmmmmm decisions, decisions. Good luck in making up your mind! :thumbsup2

My husband and I went to Chefs du France last summer and had a pleasant experience. The waitress was excellent, the manager came around and asked how our meal was and thanked us for coming down, and the food was great.

Never been to Le Cellier yet, but would definitely go back to Chefs next time we head down there. :thumbsup2

We ate at both and preferred Les Chefs this time. Le Cellier has gotten so popular and the food quality has definitely declined in the last 3 years

We like both Le Cellier and Les Chefs de France but I wouldn't put them in the same category of food. They may both have French names, but to me that's the only thing they have in common.

Les Chefs de France is casual French bistro food (and the best French Onion Soup on property - worth paying OOP to get a bowl if you're on the regular DDP)...the menu is decidedly French. Le Cellier has a French name, but it is a Canadian steakhouse.

While we very much enjoyed both restaurants last year, if forced to choose a favorite I would say Le Cellier with the beer cheese soup & the mushroom filet. But we're going back to both Les Chefs and Le Cellier in May!:thumbsup2

We just ate at Le Cellier the other night and it was fantastic but I would go to Chefs because I like the menu better and I can get a great filet anywhere, the Wave, Jiko etc.

We ate at both for dinner just last week. While both meals were absolutely fantastic, I preferred Le Cellier just slightly. I don't think you could go wrong with either one though. They are both on my "must eat at" list for our next trip.

I'd do both! ;)

Seriously, I'd do Chefs for lunch - their French menu 3 course lunch selection is the best TS bang for the buck in Epcot.

Le Cellier for dinner, and you're set.

... but, if you gotta pick one, try Chefs, if for no other reason than you've never been there.
