while we are at epcot we are thinking of eating dinner at chef de france it will be our 25th wedding anneverary we would welcome your reports DD

We celebrated our 14th at Chefs de France this past year. It was wonderful. We had decided to have an early dinner so that we could fit everything we wanted to in that evening.

We were seated on the patio...kind of nice/private, very quiet. One family was out there, but they left shortly after we arrived.
We started out with champagne and a toast. Then we ordered..the meal and service was wonderful. We were getting ready to order dessert...the waiters all kept peeking around the door...hubby and I were talking...not paying much attention...all of a sudden they all came out and with dessert, singing to us in French...it was very nice.

Chefs de France has always been one of our favorite restaurants in the world showcase, this special surprise just made it all the better.

We highly recommend a special celebration here.
Congrats!

webray thank you for you reply we will be looking foward to our dinner too

Chef's is a fine restaurant and a great place for an anniversary meal. However--I find it somewhat crowded and noisy, which can detract from an otherwise romantic dinner. These days, I prefer the Bistro D' Paris. The menu is more limited, but it is more open and quiet than Chef's.

We ate there in Feb. It was crowded (the parks seemed empty). If you did not have a PS you were turned away at the door. IT was a very nice meal and great desserts.

I recommend Bistro de Paris as a special place for an anniversary. Here is an excerpt from my upcoming book "The Luxury Guide to Walt Disney World":

Upstairs from Chefs de France is a charming Belle Époque dining room with an air of exclusivity. Here you’ll find gilded mirrors, white linen tablecloths, crimson banquettes, and billowy white drapes framing windows overlooking the World Showcase Lagoon. Servers with delicious French accents roll out sensational dishes and proceed to plate them tableside. Only the freshest of ingredients are simply prepared in tantalizing sauces and crisp, bright vegetables accompany all entrees. The all-French wine list is a pleasure with many available by the glass. Afterward order a dessert of crepes prepared and flamed tableside while lingering over cordials and coffee in anticipation of the Illuminations spectacle.

Tip: Request one of the few window tables for a nice view of the lagoon and Illuminations.

Sample Menu Items
Double Cut Chop of White Veal accompanied by potato puree; Honey Roasted Rack of Lamb with a crispy goat cheese potato gratin; Lobster served on ****ake Mushroom Fricassee with Zucchini Flower Stuffed Crab Cake; Roasted Duck Breast and Duck Confit with cherry brandy sauce; Grilled Filet Mignon with wild mushroom sauce

I loved Chefs de France and you'll have a great meal there. I agree, though, that the atmosphere at Bistro is better for a special dinner. We celebrated our anniversary there last November. It's a top-class restaurant and you'll forget that you're in a theme park at all.

I have tried Chefs de France twice now and it is not a favorite. The menue doesn't really appeal to me but I like to try things out. I had a stuffed pork chop that was good though not my style. The potaotes and veggie were not really much to my liking. At lunch I was not impressed with the sandwich I had either. HOWEVER non of the food was poorly prepared or of low quality just not the kind of food I care for. My companion had the Lobster Bisque soup and said it was the best soup he had ever come across!

We very much enjoy Chefs and Bistro but I agree that the atmosphere upstairs is more romantic. But downstairs is pretty, too. If you eat downstairs I can recommend Anthony as a server. He was wonderful.

The one drawback to the Bistro is that the menu is more limited. Why not check both and pick which sounds more appealing to both of you.

And congratulations!!:D
