Hi Everyone,

Just returned from 5 nights at BWV after celebrating a family birthday at WDW. The birthday celebration was held in a BWV two bedroom, and we had Chef Brenda Beaty cook for twelve of us. We chose the menu ahead of time and she came in and did everything: bought the food, prepared it, served it, stored it, and cleaned up. Everything went like clockwork.

Since we got her name and address originally from this board I thought other DVC members would like to know. (wwww.cooks4u.com) Apparently she'll cook for parties large and small and has an extensive menu and various prices, depending upon what one chooses.

Weather was pleasant most of the week -- high 60's, low 70's in the afternoon-- and no waits in the parks. We had a great time and look forward to HHI at the end of April.

We paid $35 per person for the menu we selected. Prices vary depending upon one's choices.

Wow! I never heard about this but it sounds FANTASTIC! I would be REALLY interested in something like this for our trip in Nov. Can you tell me what type of menu you chose, Did you get your own beverages , what about dessert, appetizers? This sounds like so much fun!

Our meal included cream of mushroom florentine soup (yummy!), salad, roast chicken (plenty for everyone, plus), carrots, green beans, a vegetarian entree with rice and cauliflower (delicious), rolls and butter/spread, and a three layer carrot cake to celebrate the birthday.

We brought our own wine and beverages. I don't recall the entire range of options but I know you can have whatever you want. I believe there are menu choices on Brenda's website, but if you don't see what you like, she's easy to work with and very accommodating.

I was not the party planner so I may be forgetting something, but I thought she did a great job and love the idea of having someone in to cook. I think I also read that she'll prepare meals for the refrigerator that one can come in and heat after a hard day at the parks.

That sounds great! I went to her site, she has a nice variety, and I think that this is something that our group would enjoy when we visit in Nov. You said that there was plenty for everyone, do you remember if there were leftovers? We have a few "big" appetites ( teen boys!) I was also wondering if you had any young children, if they were a different price, and could you order something just for them, like say chicken fingers? Thanks!

We had plenty of leftovers, but then we were all adults and more women than men.

My guess is that she could accommodate your needs, though I can't be sure. When we were planning, my aunt called and talked to Brenda about her concerns and special dietary needs for some of her guests (vegetarians).

I used Brenda in January also - she was great and it was a fun experience. There are two personal chefs in Orlando that I know of - here is a LINK to ads for both Brenda (Creative Kitchens) and another chef (Thyme to Cook)., if anyone used Thyme to Cook I'd like to hear a review; I'm thinking about having one of them fix the "prepared frozen meals for the frig" next time we are in a villa at Disney (so we won't have to cook!)
