Has anybody been and want to give a review? Thinking of going the night of my first day on November 1st. Saw a nice piece on The Chew this week and I love the premise of this restaurant using locally sustained foods. The agriculture teacher in me geeks out at stuff like this.

It's my go-to place in Disney Springs. The premise is easy to get without being twee or overdone. The food is great, and it presents dressed-up southern staples without becoming a caricature. I especially like the deviled eggs, the fish dip, and the shrimp and grits. The drinks are outstanding, using a whole menu of Florida local spirits. The servers are genuinely friendly and kept things moving even on a busy Saturday night. I've sat at the bar three times now, and the ladies and gents working there are my favorites in Disney Springs.

We had lunch there last week (day before Matthew hit) and it was wonderful. That one meal put it at the top of our "gotta eat there" list, knocking Boathouse down to number two.

Entrees are very large. We split the BBQ pork with Mac & Cheese, and still had leftovers. Also had the hush puppies as well as green beans. Everything was very, very good. Staff was friendly and efficient but not hovering. Overall, it was a great experience. My only complaint was that there weren't enough biscuits with the meal. I highly recommend it.

Caveat: vegetarians, vegans and those opposed to bacon fat are likely to be offended by the menu.

I had lunch there a few weeks ago and it was really good. I had the fried chicken sandwich and I've craved it a few times since. I'd be happy to go back again.

I was watching video in Youtube about Homecoming review and it was mentioned that there's no bones in the chicken meal? It was mentioned chickens was shaped as if it did have bones but no bones. Is this correct?

Comparing chicken meal to chicken sandwich, which did you guys liked better?

It's really good. Best fried chicken we've ever had. Pricey fried chicken, but good. DH had the chicken meal, so can't comment on the chicken sandwich. I had a steak salad which was decent, but not as good as the fried chicken. The cornmeal fritters (hush puppies) were delicious - they were the croutons in my salad.

Did the chicken have bones?

We have an ADR for Homecoming, our first full day at Disney-no parks though. Have been so excited to eat at Homecoming! My biggest dilemma is- what to order??!! I want the fried green tomatoes! Want the fried chicken! Want the mashed potatoes! I want the hummingbird cake! Only problem is... I eat like the diabetic that I am, (low carb) and don't ordinarily eat this way. if you could eat just one of these things- which would it be???

I loved it. We had the Jasper board app which was incredible. I love pimento cheese and it was almost as good as my grandmothers (don't tell her).

I had the fried chicken sandwich and it was excellent. The chips and the dressing they put on them... mmm mmmm mmm. So very good.

I did get to try one of the hush puppies (also served with pimento Cheese) and it was good but not the best HP I've ever eaten.

The drinks are also pretty tasty.

I'd go back in a heartbeat.

And to answer a question from above, the fried chicken is bone in. The fried chicken sandwich is not.

From a carb perspective, the best option is the chicken of course. My husband is a T1 and fried chicken only requires a little more insulin for him than it cooked other ways (this is mostly based on my way of flouring as he doesn't eat it out much).

With that being said I'd eat fried chicken and the cake. And then take an extra long walk back to the bus wandering through every store.

Honestly my vote is for the mashed potatoes! The white gravy they put on it is absolutely heavenly. Even without the gravy they're warm and flavorful and a perfect consistency. But the chicken's a close second!

This place is sounding like a "must do" for sure! Thanks for all the reviews!

Will be there in 3 weeks! Can't wait... LOL!

Can't decide what to order though... (2 adults to share)

Choice 1: deviled eggs, chicken sandwich with chips, side order of mac & cheese
Choice 2: deviled eggs, chicken plate with mac & cheese

Choosing is indeed the hard part. There are some more options on the actual menu as opposed to the menu on the Disney site. Specifically, they have a "sampler" of side - sweet potatoes, fried green tomatoes and green beans, if I remember right.

We have to go back if only for the hummingbird cake - we were so stuffed we couldn't do dessert.

I was wondering what "sampler" sides were. Thank you.....you made my choice harder! LOL!

My friend and I are definitely planning on sharring our entrees so we can try more! has anyone tried the Catfish? She is quite set on it as her entree!

I haven't gone yet but what I have read so far, you can get better catfish somewhere else. Most said "it's okay" but chicken is better.
