Is there a cheesecake Factory near Disney?
We have two nearby. One in cambridge and one in Burlington. It would be nice to go on vac. DS gets the Sliders (like white castle) burger appetizer for dinner and I love the banana stuffed french toast at Sunday brunch.Mmmm

Yes at in the Mall at Mileniea (sp?). It is not far from the old Belz Outlets. I was there this summer and granted it was in the afternoon but it was NOT crowded like usual Cheesecake Factory business. But then again the whole mall was not crowded. It is one of those very upscale malls where most people only window shop.

Just a few comments...

Cheesecake Factory is simply not set up for good service, it's a design flaw and no bearing on your server. That's one of HUGE reasons why I left. That is why service is slow and waits are long. You could literally have a party of 4, each order 4 different drinks and the poor server has to go to 4 different parts of the restuarant to get each drink. The menu is just too extensive to have all the changes in ordrs refelcted in the computers, so each has to be hand delivered. I can't even begin to explain the dozens of reasons why that is horrible.

They are not child friendly. They do have baby plates, which can really help, but there is no child's menu. To be honest, they don't want kids there. A good server can help you find child friendly foods though--pizza is easy to see, but there is also a grilled cheese sandwhich, a side of chicken, sliders (mini hamburgers on the app. menu), and I can't think what else, it's been 8 1/2 years since I left.

Cheesecake Factory started as a mom and pop place by a single couple. It was cheesecake sales out of the home and then a small cafe, then a larger menu and so on. When they retired they sold the concept, or rather, retired when they sold the concept. Another concept was never started by them (they were elderlyish by this time). Maybe the other restaurant "started by the same people" is a concept from the buyers, but not the original owners.

We've only eaten there 3 times, but the service was excellent all 3 times. Maybe we've just been lucky but the servers seemed attentive to our needs and requests and responded well.

I'm not aware of any rule that says restaurants have to be child-friendly. Some places are family restaurants and some places aren't. I see nothing wrong with that either way.

i love the cheesecake factory!!!!!!!!!!!!

There's one inside Disney Quest. There may be another one outside Disney World, I don't know.

You have to pay admission to DQ if you want to eat at The Cheesecake Factory there.

Dh and I were at the one in Southlake, TX about a month ago. Dh got some appetizer, cheesecake to go, and a coke. I got the tomato, mozzarella, and basil pizza (sooo good!), Godiva cheesecake to go, and a mixed drink. Total, after tip....$68. We thought it was definitely worth it, maybe because it was a night out without the kiddo? :rotfl:

I didn't say you couldn't get good service there, and what you call good service will vary from person to person--I tend to be picky with 15+ years experience in the industry & knowing what is supposed to be going on. What I said is Cheesecake Factory has design flaws where it is difficult for servers to give good service under a variety of conditions.

Nor did I say Cheesecake Factory was in any way substandard for not being child friendly. I simply said it wasn't and it isn't on purpose. But if you do bring kids, there are ways to make sure that the kids are happy. My kids go from time to time, but generally we go there when we are having an adults night. We prefer to take the kids to places (and we eat out all the time) that are more intune with children.

Maybe the food quality varies from location to location? When we go, we go to the one in King of Prussia (PA) and I've never been disappointed with the food....in fact, I've even been "wow'ed" by it a few times! And I know and love good food. But in agreement, the cheesecake is the real attraction. I've never met a piece of cheesecake I didn't like! :rotfl:

I personally have never been dissapointed either, but I know other people have. Now I'm hungry for some cheesecake!

I'm curious about this. I've only been to one location which is brand new and it seems to be laid out just fine from a service standpoint as far as I could tell. I wonder if it is different than the older locations. Do you think they've changed anything to improve the problems you noticed years ago?

Nope, they haven't really changed a thing. I still have friends that manage there and they complain about it still. Our little town just opened one a year or two ago (it was in the plans when I first went there and that is why I went there, that and they do pay above par & have great benefits) and it is relatively the same layout, albeit a little smaller. It might be something you have to work to understand. It's not something I noticed until after I started working there.

ETA: Please don't get me wrong. I love Cheesecake Factory despite everything. They have exceptionally high standards; I've never seen or heard of a cleaner kitchen. I always said you could eat off of the floor at the one I worked at. The quality is amazing. There are just some flaws in the concept that make some things, from a customer pov, less than appealing.
