Ok, I gushed over Red Robin in the other thread, but....even better than Red Robin, IMHO, is Cheeseburger in Paradise.

Who has these by them?

We have two in town now. The first was 45 minutes away and not very practical. Now they have one 30 minutes away and we go there a lot (keep in mind, we live in the sticks so no matter WHERE we go it's at least 25 minutes away!!!)

My favorite there is the southwestern chicken wrap and their onion straw fries.
And their key lime pie is really good!!!

Anyone else???

We have one. I've only been there once--right after they opened. I don't know why, but none of us were impressed. I had some sort of wrap and OMG was it ever salty. My kids don't even ask to go there.

We must be hard to please, though, because there is always a crowd there.

Ate at one in Hawaii in feb. Sadly disappointed.
Won't go back.

I just ate at Cheeseburger in Paradise for the first time on the 4th. I loved the beachy atmosphere and LOVED their extensive drink list! The cheeseburger was just okay, though.

I would definitely go back just for drinks and appetizers though!

the chocolate Nachos are pure sin. They were wonderful! DD and I will split an entree just so we can get dessert!

they just opened one near here...

but I really truly dislike Jimmy Buffet so I won't be going to this restaurant.

I'll just stick with my Fudruckers.

Not impressed at all...there aren't many restaurants I won't give a second chance, but this was one of them. There were 4 of us and not one liked their food (and we all ordered very different things).

We went there over the weekend. Started out good. Got good drinks, waiter seemed friendly. Then he forgot our appetizer, then he got my order wrong. My new order (of plain mini-burgers, which they must cook tons of) took over 10 minutes to come, kids were done eating, my burgers weren't done well...really pink in the middle still. Then he asked if we still wanted the appetizer. Umm, yeah, we ordered it. So finally that came. Then the bill came..it was wrong. Charged twice for my order. I had to explain it to him 3 times before he corrected it. At this point, its been over an hour and a half, and DDs were really really ready to not be sitting in a restaurant anymore. So, minus the service, the food was ok. I'd eat there again, but not go out of my way for it.

Wow, lots of bad reviews. We don't have these here but if we ever get one, I'll try it just because Jimmy Buffet is such a favorite of ours. I'm guessing that he's involved in some way from the other comment?

wow. it's amazing these stories. we've been to ours lots and the food is always good and the service is always good, if not great. our kids love it too. and the price is always great (we get out of there for $30-$35 as opposed to $45 at most other places)

Hmmm....interesting.

I will agree...the chocolate nachos are AWESOME! :)

You know, with these franchises, sometimes it's really hit or miss. I think a lot of it has to do with the managers they hire and, in turn, the employees that the managers hire. You can have a fabulous one and then some that aren't. Sounds like you've lucked out.

It's sort of like the Red Robin thread. When our Red Robin first opened it was great and the food still isn't bad, but there is something a bit "seedy" about our location. I must not be alone in that thinking because if everything else in town is crowded, I know that I can go to Red Robin and never have to wait.

We just moved near one, probably the one Christine was mentioning. (Hi, Christine!) We have not tried it yet, but we want to! We had another Jimmy Buffet place, Margaritaville, in Vegas and we loved it. So we have to give it a whirl, despite the bad reviews.

I don't really know that for sure...I just figured they would play alot of his music and...well...I wouldn't enjoy that.

I have to admit the chocolate nachos sound good...I can send DH there if they do take-out! :rotfl:

I think my mom ate at the Key West Margaritaville and really loved it.

Bbgrizzle, we went to Cheeseburger in Paradise (in Woodbridge) about 2 weeks after it opened. We were seated in an area that smelled of sewage. There was a poorly vented drainpipe in the dining room and it was just awful. I couldn't believe that no one else seemed to care. They did move our seat finally. My DH got a hamburger which was fine (no better or worse than anywhere else). I got some steak wrap thing and, as I said earlier, the steak was WAY over salted. I just didn't enjoy it. My son got something off the kids menu and he just didn't care for it either and has never asked to go back. I wouldn't say it was awful or anything, just not as good as we hoped. I really just go to Five Guys now when I want a burger.

We have one about 30 min away =- I LOVE jimmy buffett so we went...
get there love the beach atmosphere - but WTH no jimmy music it was rock...
hello that does not fit the theme!!!! Food was okay alittle pricey... I had a GREAT drink pina colda w/blackberry puree mixed in.....BIG drink...
I would go back as long as i could hear some Jimmy instead but I won't rush!

:sad2: That sounds bad. I haven't tried Five Guys yet either, but DH likes it.

I'm sure they've corrected the sewage smell by now. It has been a few years.

Ours plays a mix of Jimmy Buffet music along with other similar artists (James Taylor, etc) They used to have a juke box, but recentely that's missing. They do have live music nearly every night with a guy who sings pretty well. He also does a mix of Jimmy and others. He takes requests, which my kids LOVE.

Our prices are always very good....but then again, we never get the drinks which can rack up the bill pretty quickly.

I'd love to try it, but we only have a smallish one in Downers Grove, which is a good 40 minutes down the tollway for us. The couple of times we've tried the wait has been prohibitive. Someday, I guess...
