I'm sorry, you may be telling the truth, but I'm having a hard time believing anything you say.

Posting the same message over and over on threads that have nothing to do with your agenda while doing the same thing at micechat (DisneylandIsFun) is not good for your credibility.

If you don't want to believe me thats fine, I have had first hand experience...it almost ruined my views of Disneyland. There are many others who have posted that the cheer competitions make the parks very crowded. I am just trying to reach out to as many people as I can to give them a heads up.

Are you sure that what you experienced wasn't just typical weekend crowds?

There are conventions in Anaheim all year long.

Most people don't go to Disneyland on a Saturday expecting it to be empty. And if they do, they are delusional.

If crowds ruined your views of Disneyland, then maybe you just weren't mentally prepared for the fact that if YOU wanted to be there, so did thousands of others.

I think if I posted the fact that every time I eat at Taco Bell it makes we sick, that would be free speech.

But if I orchestrated an effort to prevent as many others as I could from eating at Taco Bell, especially by making false statements, I might get sued.

As big a fan of Disneyland that I am, I don't think I'd like to meet Mickey's lawyer. :scared:

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

That is what I was thinking as well....

we are one of those cheer families coming to DL! I know most will leave that sunday that are coming from AZ. Our AIMS testing starts that monday for most schools and kids can not miss those!!!
But for us we go to private schools so we are going thursday - the next wed! We love disney!!!!

Lori

that is my hope that most will stay thursday-whenever.. just give me tuesday and wednesday and that is all i need. lol

To be honest, it doesnt affect Disneyland as much as DCA. It affects DCA a lot though. Hollywood is completely packed and most likely no Aladdin as the performances is in the Hyperion theatre.

are you serious?? they may close aladin? That is not mentioned on thier calendar.. thanks for the heads up i will definately make sure i'll attend tues or wednesday..

FYI im lmao at some of the replies to this thread....

Yes there are conventions all year but the cheer conventions really seem to affect attendance more than other conventions do. We were there a couple years ago in April and it was almost as busy as it was last July. I still appreciate the thought behind the post, altho there were quite a few of them. :)

Well I appreciate the understanding, and sorry for all the repetative posts. I am just trying to spread the word about how extremely crowded the cheer and dance competition makes the parks. I was unwarned when I went last year and I couldn't really enjoy the trip that I had been looking forward to for so long...just don't want that to happen to any other families.

Yeah, you're just about as misunderstood as OJ.

That was certainly not the case last year. Disneyland was full of cheerleaders and dancers on Saturday. I would say your best bet is to visit Disneyland on Friday and DCA on Saturday to avoid the crowds.

well all I know is that coaches say on sat to concentrate on cheer. maybe by the evening they go, but not in the day.

we are going to DL for the cheer competition at the convention center and we canot wait for it. My kids are looking forward to it also! We are the ones making it busy for you and we love it all - lines or no lines disney is a blast! Heck we took a family vcation to WDW in middle of july! If I can brave those crowds I can brave anything- oh and if you see my siggy we went to DL between xmas and was there till 1am NYE this year! So for us any crowd less than that is a dream!
And as AP holders we do not go on saturday anyways!!! so saturday is all yours!!

Lori
p.s. you are sooooo negative - disney is a happy place crowds and all!

I was correct in my statements that MOST of the schools are done with spring break in the range of April 1-10th. Go ahead and check it out if you want.

Also, I will most definately NOT be attending the park when that damn cheer and dance competition is going on this year. It was such a frustrating experience, thinking that the crowds were going to be light, only to find the park absolutely packed. I am just trying to give people a heads up, something I wish I had before I went last year.

If people don't believe you I suggest taking a "fine do whatever you want" attitude and moving on. Attempting to convince anyone you are not in fact a closet cheerleader with ulterior motives is pointless.

According to the Anaheim Convention center they are expecting 10,000 attendees at the cheerleader convention April 18-20.

During the slow period in early April (1-10), they are expecting 21,800 attendees.

I checked out that link and it doesn't list any expectations for crowds during the 18-20. I have been reading on various boards and the competition website that they are expecting something like 50,000 competitors AND fans to be in attendance over the three day period.

Your 21,800 number represents total crowds over a TEN day period. So now double that and jam it into only THREE days, and that is what the crowds are expected to be during the 18-20.
