ok since we are attending the convention. go cheer!!! I will tell you that this is a big nationals but not as big as the one afew weeks ago. that is directly from our cheer director to us that was said last week! so if that helps at all

Hey Eeyore we will be there too! Not for the convention, but for fun. Here's to a great weekend for all!

I checked out that link and it doesn't list any expectations for crowds during the 18-20. I have been reading on various boards and the competition website that they are expecting something like 50,000 competitors AND fans to be in attendance over the three day period.

Your 21,800 number represents total crowds over a TEN day period. So now double that and jam it into only THREE days, and that is what the crowds are expected to be during the 18-20.

The above post can be safely ignored. It probably will be busy (which weekends aren't?), but nothing apocalyptic like you may have read (worse than Christmas, etc). There has been a concerted effort made by one or more cheerleaders, on this and others boards, to scare away visitors during that weekend. You'll recognize these posts because they will 1) warn about April 18-20, and 2) come from someone who joined March 2008 with only a few posts.

However, what we do know, is that there will be at least one lowlife loser at Disneyland during April 18-20. :thumbsup2

I find it all amusing because I will be able to report first-hand all the crowds will (or won't) be. And that my last trip to DLR was during the 50th anniversary weekend in July 2005.

If I can survive that (and it wasn't really that bad!), I'm sure I could survive this. I've survived Pop Warner kids in WDW in December, too. ;)

I'm looking forward to the food and wine festival. :thumbsup2

yep - and I think that trying to scare people is not right!
Besides no one is staying away because one "crazy" :joker: is telling us to!!! I welcome the other cheerleaders and my kids are excited as well! Anyone up for a little sallywalker game!

GoDisneyForLife,DLR,DisneylandIsFun, or whatever your latest name is,

The posts you've been reading about 50,000 competitors were written by yourself, so that doesn't necessarily make it true. :lmao: Perhaps you could provide a link to the 50,000 estimate?

Since you're having trouble, I'll help you out.

Click on the link, http://www.anaheimoc.org/conventioncalendar/index.asp, choose "Select a Date Range", select "CC", then April 1 through 30.

If you can't figure that out, then I guess there's nothing else I can do. :confused3

You are really doing a disservice to anyone who wants real information about those dates. First of all, you already admited you haven't been to Disneyland during one of those competitions, so you really have no clue how crowded it truly does get. Second, insinuating that the crowds will be the same as a typical weekend is vastly untrue. There is a significant difference! Hotels are all booked for that weekend, so that should tell you something right there.

I'm sure if any "real" information is needed here one of the fine DIS veterans will post it. And then it will have some merit. BTW, don't forget to post this on all the other threads on all the other boards too. Although I imagine you have it down to a science by now.

Well I see you have been doing the exact same thing. Doesn't that mean you are doing the exact thing you claim to dislike? Maybe you should work on being a little less hypocritical.

And my info is very much "real." There IS a cheer comeptition AND the Long Beach Grand Prix taking place, which will make the park MUCH MORE CROWDED than a normal weekend.

I am just attempting to provide useful information to people, I'm sorry if that bothers you for some reason.

Your information is NOT useful. It's is incorrect and misleading, no matter how many user names you present it under.

To all the other Dis members, please please let these ridiculous posts die and drop to the second page and beyond . . . I'm tired of false information junking up these boards. . . anyone else?

I second that! :thumbsup2

Another reason why the hotels are all booked is, Because you have people flying in from all over the world coming for the Long Beach Grand Prix which is the same weekend.

The Long Beach Grand Prix brings in about 250,000 to 300,000 people a year for the event.
