Cheerleaders in April? 18-20?

Regardless, the weeked in discussion is less than a month away, and many people have already made travel plans for that time.

I will be going from April 21st-23rd and I CAN'T WAIT! My friends and I looked at all possible dates and those are the ones that worked for all of us to go. Even if it is insanely crowded, the weather will be nice, unlike the middle of summer when it is 100 degrees.

I was not attacking your character at all, I was simply pointing out the fact that you are trying to find an alterior motive in my efforts to help, which in turn, is very cynical of you.

Second, I am NOT incorrect in my statement that the MAJORITY of schools are done with spring break in the beginning of April, so you really need to let that one go.

And finally, yes, the crowds will be minimal in early April compared to the crowds in the coming months.

Sorry if you don't want people coming to Disneyland when you are going to be there, but you need to stop pretending like early April crowded time to go, because it really isn't.

"Vast majority", "most", and "majority" all represent different relative amounts.

The same goes for an absolute "very minimal" versus a relative "minimal"

But I'm glad you're at least partially conceding my points. :)

You know, only time and attendance records will show how crowded the beginning of April 2008 will truly be. My bet is on pretty darn crowded, and it seems that Disney management who are setting the park hours at DLR are expecting the same.

I think I would tend to believe Disney management over someone who is spamming the same message to all threads, regardless of topic. :sad2:

I agree with this. I don't think coming on here and telling people that there will be "minimal crowds" is doing anyone a service. If Disneyland decides to be open until 11 on a weeknight it is because they are expecting large crowds.

Our school district is off the 2nd week of April for Spring Break in Northern Ca. I expect a lot of them will be going to Disneyland.

Yeah, I agree too. I don't think it will be too bad, but it will be crowded. When I saw one of his first posts where he compared it favorably with summer, I was hopeful. But then I kept seeing the same post in thread after thread. I'm just hoping it's not worse than July. But even in July we had a GREAT time! :cool1:

we are one of those cheer families coming to DL! I know most will leave that sunday that are coming from AZ. Our AIMS testing starts that monday for most schools and kids can not miss those!!!
But for us we go to private schools so we are going thursday - the next wed! We love disney!!!!

You will have another GREAT time if you are going in early April. It will be way less crowded than the summer months.

To the poster who keeps talking about April 18-20...while you are correct in those dates being very crowded, you don't need to continually post it. I appreciate what you are trying to do, but there are better ways to go about it.

:confused3 :confused3 OK. We will be there April 16th - the 21st!!!:cheer2: How worried should we be? We plan to do DL on Wed afternoon and all day Thursday. DCA on Friday. We were going to go early Sat just to get fastpasses and then go in the evening only to use them and see Fantasmic.Should we alter our plans at all? Sunday we will be hopping parks just to do Fav rides one more time, and see the electrical parade at night. What do you think?? Are we going to be in trouble????Help please, before I stress any more!!!!TIA

eeyore, since you will be a part of the competition, what are your thoughts on the number of people attending and the time of day you'll be attending the parks versus the convention center? Do you think most people will come to DL before the competion or stay after it is over?

From my experience last year, it would be much better to avoid Disneyland on Saturday. You are better off going to DCA on Saturday and hitting up Disneyland during a weekday or that Sunday. It seems like a majority of the people go to DCA on Friday because they are just arriving and don't want to spend only a partial day in Disneyland.

Yeah, I'm sure we will. I took my three kids (6,3,3 at the time) last July and it was really special. We went for 5 days and we still have things left to do!

This year we're going for 7 days and staying directly across the street (we took the ART shuttle last year). Also, my twin girls just reached 40" (with no shoes!) so we're really excited about all the "mountains" and Soarin. I've been showing them youtubes of the rides and they say they're going to try them. But we'll see. My wife wants to take them on ToT, but I think we'll save that for the last day. I myself am too chicken. :scared:

very true. All you have to do is look at the park hours and the block out dates to see what the crowds will be like....

That is true to an extent. The block out dates can still vary in crowd size. It is still helpful to know if events are taking place to try and schedule different dates to visit the parks.

I am trying to figure out when to go, and I think I am going to wait for spring break to end and apparently for that cheerleading competition to finish up before I go. It is looking like sometime in May!! Can't wait!

I WISH we could go in May. I think that could be the perfect balance of weather/crowds.

saturday is sooo full of competition that any cheerleader would not jepordize there time or tiredness to go to DL unless after competition. and then they perform sunday am as well and awards are that night. so do not be tooo worried!

That was certainly not the case last year. Disneyland was full of cheerleaders and dancers on Saturday. I would say your best bet is to visit Disneyland on Friday and DCA on Saturday to avoid the crowds.

you know what?? I think it is always pretty busy now. Disney has done great work with marketing and bringing in groups as well as cutting hours and ride capacity for slow times so that even if the park is less full it still feels full..so..I guess you just have to grin and bear it and try not to let crowds get to you..because the old 'slow' times are long gone, IMO

To be honest, it doesnt affect Disneyland as much as DCA. It affects DCA a lot though. Hollywood is completely packed and most likely no Aladdin as the performances is in the Hyperion theatre.

I'm sorry, you may be telling the truth, but I'm having a hard time believing anything you say.

Posting the same message over and over on threads that have nothing to do with your agenda while doing the same thing at micechat (DisneylandIsFun) is not good for your credibility.
