Cheer Group in February Question

At the very latest they would arrive on Thursday the 8th . About half arrive Wednesday. Thursday is a practice day . Cheer is definitely different than danceteam . They practice anywhere not just at ESPN . Dancers usually only practice inside . We were at danceteam nationals last year for my daughter at Coronado. It was still peaceful there . The values get rowdy especially with cheer . I would probably do a split stay and get out of POP at the end of your stay .
For sure!

If there is a blade of grass available there will be a Cheerleader!lol

Touchdown! at All-Star Sports is "Ground Zero".

They also practice in the Hoops Hotel Courtyard and the "Tennis Court" in Center Court at Sports.

At All-Star Movies they practice in the space by Love Bug.

At Pop Century they practice on The Green.

ETC.,ETC.

Exactly. Really need to research for trips during this time of year.
I had done my research. I couldn't help that they decided to put them in AKL that year and we didn't find out until they were coming in the door of the lobby in droves. I'll state what I did earlier in the thread, previous to that year, they had only been at Mods and Values.

Makes me wonder if that was a last minute decision on Disney's part.
Possibly not planned, but now it can work?

It probably had something to do with some of the resorts not being open fully at that time due to the end of the covid rules. I know there were a few mods I think that still weren't fully open.

If there are any major groups at POR next January, I will report. Sports teams are not the only groups that can ruin your resort stay. And those I do not know how to research their future stays.

Thank you for posting this thread!! I almost stayed at Coronado Feb 2-4. Turns out there is a dance competition at WDW that weekend, with the resorts hosting being CSR, ASMu, and Sports. I'm now looking at the Swolphin instead, lol.

This thread is making me nervous haha. We are staying Preferred Pool View but we are only there Feb 1st - 5th. I'm guessing we won't have too much of an issue.

I have no idea what the actual event was last year but I know it was the end of Feb/ early March and every single resort we went to was crawling with those exuberant teens yelling, jumping, doing each other's hair. We were getting escorted to the top of the Contemporary to watch fireworks and the cast member was annoyed "WHY would they put them here?!?!" There were at least 10 rooms with them at POFQ and we rarely saw or heard them but their chaperones were a different story, overheard them on the boat to Disney Springs saying they were more than happy to pay extra to stay somewhere that had direct access to "all the booze"

Also there's nothing stopping a random group of high school kids staying in ANY resort. Same trip we watched 3 big coach buses pull up to the parking loop in the back of POFQ well after midnight and woah, so many people piled out. Apparently they were marching in a parade and decided to make a long weekend trip?

Too funny!

The amount of ribbons and glitter seen at WDW during a Cheer/Dance Competition is staggering!lol

WOW that is a big variety. Makes me wonder if there are other large groups booked as some of the values at least. Wonder if the BTGs are back this year, they are Jan & Feb.
Yes, that variety caught my eye too. BTG are worrisome as well.

Truth. Was at Sports last Feb and by dark the bar was 4 deep with Cheer Moms have a PARTY! They were filling the outside food court tables with plenty of empty glasses. 🍹🍷🍺🍸🥃

I was also going to say where I live folks wouldn't blink twice about booking deluxe or moderates with their kid's groups.

They must really have a good rate at AKL for them.

Considering changing from Pop Century to PO:FQ. I don't see it in the graphic above (but it does not our weekend listed). The cost will be about $300 more for the time we are at WDW. Am I overreacting? Seems silly to give up the Skyliner over this (and pay more).

We are going Feb 1-5, with 3 park hoppers so we will be going Friday, Saturday, Sunday to the parks.

I am going 2 weeks end of January/ February so I analyzed all the cheer events closely. Officially they dont stay at Pop for the first event (February 2-4). They stay at all star and Coronado. I would think before switching to POFQ because the only pool will be closed all winter…

The package pricing is included your Image from your earlier post for a 2 night stay at each resort listed. One column to the right of the Resort name.
