Cheep motels for the night before and the nights after

My DS (15) and I will be driving to WDW this August. This will be our first trip and we are very excited about it. I Have arranged for the following motels....

Ressies for CSR for 8/13-8/16 at rack rate. The CM at the CRO was really nice and said that there shouldnt be any problems applying codes when they come out

And Ressies for the night of 8/17 at RPR 119 for the night using the entertainment book.

Now all I have to do is get a cheepie motel for the night we arrive and for the 2 nights after universal when we go to Sea world.

Any thoughts or suggestions on the 30 to 40 $ a night motels?

Your best chances of getting a 3* hotel at that price would be to use Priceline or Hotwire.

You can't just go in and bid blindly, however. If you do that you may end up getting a hotel that is not in the area you want.

I have used Priceline, and got a pretty nice hotel for only $35 a night. I am in the process of either bidding or using Hotwire to get a hotelroom for my one night airport stay.

We will be in WDW at the same time. August is just too long to wait for this vacation. Anyway, we just decided to extend our vacation a few more days and I found that expedia.com had a $40 a night rate at Days Inn (at Downtown Disney). So of course I went to daysinn.com and found they they have a "best rate guarantee" and for the same 2 nights Days inn have the rate of $52. So I booked online (at Daysinn.com) and submited a form asking for the $40 expedia rate less 10% ($36 a night). All of this has to be done online, but they responded within 24 hours.
