Morning all! Just sitting here waiting for my coffee to pick me up

. I need to mow the yard and finish unpacking if I ever find the energy

.
Well, vacation was wonderful. We left the house at 3:00am on Saturday morning and got to the beach at 12:30pm. Check-in wasn't until 3:30 so we had some time to kill. The kids were begging me to take them to the ocean. We were only about 5 minutes away, and Mommy was playing the bad guy making them wait

. The anticipation was worth it. We went and had lunch and shopped for some souvies. Finally I asked them if they wanted to go see the ocean. Of course the answer was yes.
Well, Sami's first reaction was "WOW!". Jordan is just always amazed when he sees it. Now Ethan hasn't been to the beach since he was 15 months old, so this was really a new experience for him. I kept telling him there was lots of sand for him to play with. He kept asking me if it was like his sand box at home. I just told him sort of. When we finally walked out onto the beach, he started jumping up and down and laughing

. I asked him what was so funny and he said, "This is the biggest sand box I've ever seen!"

. Only a 3 year old could come up with something like that

.
There's not really much to do at this beach. It's more of a residential area. We spent most of our time on the beach and in the pool. I started to take them to the turtle hospital (
only 1 of 2 in the nation that care for Loggerhead Turtles) but the line was around the block and they didn't
feel like waiting. We did get to see the Battleship North Carolina in Wilmington. Jordan is a real history and war buff so he was really interested in that.
I was just glad we were away from the hustle and bustle of home, and I could spend some quality time with the kids and relax. Well, the relaxing part never really happened

.
I now know why I like flying. The drive down was great, but the drive home was depressing. We left at 9:00pm Friday night and should have made it home by 4 or 5, but Mommy kinda went on a little adventure at one point on the way back

. Yes, I'll admit it. I got lost, but hey at least we can say we've been someplace we've never been before

. At least I can. The kids were asleep, so they never have to know about Mommy's little adventure

. We pulled into the garage at exactly 7am Saturday morning. Can't wait to do it again next year
