It's 55 degrees here.

dd5 is in the middle of a massive emotional fit.

I bet your dogs don't do *that* to you.

I must read to the crazed child before she destroys the house.

Did you say you had started a thread for the 2008 half-death-sentence??

I was going to try a different method... I stand at the finish line with a Mickey Bar saying... "Here Fab! Heeerrreee Faaaabbiiieeee..."

Well, that's a good method, but I am thinking it will be too early and too cold, so I'll try the "sending out good vibes" approach. :teeth:

Oh, don't even go there!! :lmao:

There was a general thread about running and races on the WISH board.

That means NO OTHER threads can ever be started about races.

Ever.

Er. By the time finish, I think it will have warmed up nicely. :sunny:

When I entered last time (and then found myself in the *family way*), I entered for the last corrall, longest time frame they offered. I think I checked the box "before the vernal equinox"

:lmao:

Hello Chicks.

Susan how was your trip?

It was really, really good. I couldn't have asked for much better. How was yours? You haven't told us a thing!

Good morning Tricia! I don't think I'll ever make my morning coffee without thinking of you. :surfweb:

And I bet Jeanny is up for a WDW run!!! I don't know anyone who has more energy. :Pinkbounc

Now I have to go shove that girl in some tights.

Good Morning Chicks.

Fab have I told you how beautiful your girls are? Simply gorgeous.

I'm doing a little volunteering at DS's school today. Then it's lunch with lots of first graders.

Sorry Susan about being MIA during the day. It seems like we haven't caught up in a while. I've been so busy since getting home from Disney trying to get everything all decorated. I am way behind on my Christmas shopping. Thanksgiving week is usually when I get so much done.

Have a great Wednesday everyone. :wave2:

GW - thank you!

I know - I also do all of my holiday shopping close to Thanksgiving and the few times we've been gone then - Oh Boy. :rolleyes1

But we really really want to hear about your trip.

Enjoy that lunch! Hope you come home still relatively sane.

You should see her thighs!

I love watching the thin newborn blossom into a fat & happy baby.

I tell you - Kailey has been giving me such a hard time. I thought 5 year olds were supposed to be easy. :confused3

Hola! Buenos Dias!

I had such a relaxing day yesterday. I finished the last "Cheers" Season One episode about 10:15 last night. I think that's the most I've watched TV in one day since I did a "Lord of the Rings" marathon about a year and a half ago. :happytv:

Lest you think I was a Couch Potato ALL DAY, I also got another 1/2 day written on my Trip Report, so I'm now well into the morning of our last day. I'm gonna try to finish writing tonight, and then proof-read it tomorrow. I should have it posted by the end of the weekend. :surfweb:

Through a burst of energy & selfless determination on my part, we are caught up with laundry now. Except the clean laundry isn't folded & sorted yet. KAMommy & I will have a folding party tonight. :laundy:

I worked on my car too. It's been more than a month since I drove it, and it's getting close to needing an oil change, so I did that. The rear passenger tire was really low so I aired that up too. I blame it on the weather. It's been cold (low 30s) at night and warm (60s & 70s) during the day, which messes up the air pressure. At least that sounds good. I'll have to drive it to my school meeting tomorrow, so I wanted to make sure it was in adequate shape. The school is just this side of Nashville, which is about a 3-hour drive from here.

Today is my month-end systems stuff. Go to each person's computer, make sure all the updates have been installed, virus scans have happened when they were scheduled, fix any little problems that have cropped up... I'll do all that when people leave at lunchtime.

Half-marathon? Our friend "StitchIsOurHero" has mentioned wanting to do it in the past. We had dinner with her & her husband Monday night and we all talked about it then. We now have tentative plans for Jan. '08, provided there's nothing screwy going on with DVC points (DVC hasn't published the '08 points rates yet). So it looks like we might actually do that. I guess I shoud start training for it now, huh? :yay: :yay: :yay:

My next vacation day will be next Tuesday. I have to take my remaining vacation time or else I'll lose it. All full-time employees in the firm get 3 weeks each year, and are able to carry-over one week's worth to the next year (max. of 4 weeks each year until 10th year of employment when we grant an extra week of vacation, then it becomes 5 weeks). But I still have 50+ vacation hours to use up by December 31. So through the rest of the year I'll have 3-day & 4-day work weeks. That's the flip side of working those 80- & 90-hour weeks from August through November.

We capped the vacation carry-over to one week each year because of a situation at a local firm that two of us partners worked at in the past. A long-term employee with that firm had banked up vacation time every year of his employment, to the tune of 1 to 2 weeks each year. Needless to say he was the kind of guy who NEVER took vacations. When he quit that firm, they owed him 23 weeks worth of built-up vacation time! He was VERY well-paid as he was their systems administrator with long-time standing (he worked there at least 15 years). And the way their employee's manual was written didn't give the firm any defense in the slightest. I was the guy hired to replace that employee. That was a huge financial hit for that firm to take, which was already not in the best shape anyway.
