We have booked the Saturday & Sunday at BCV after our Disney cruise next October. We are actually leaving at 8 pm on Sunday but wanted the room and the pool for the day. Is it okay to check out late in the evening instead of staying till the next day? We know it may seem like a waste of points, but we felt the 32 point were worth it not to have to wander around and be able to relax until we have to go to the airport.

I figured someone will be happy on Moday because they will be able to get into their one bedroom early because we are going to be out before morning.

Thanks
Judy

Yes, you can do that. With express checkout, they will have no way of even knowing that you left on Sunday night vs Monday morning. There's no housekeeping that time of night, so they will not clean it until the morning.

Unlike other well run timeshares like Marriott there is no way to know when a guest checks out. With Marriott you call a number to let housekeeping know you left. This really helps them get the vacant rooms cleaned immediately.

Go figure, I never wait for my room when I stay Marriott TS.

Once again another example of DVC lagging behind. That room will likely be dirty until 4:00 p.m regardles of when you check out.

You can very easily let the desk know you will be vacating early - they will convey the message to mousekeeping so cleaning can begin early the next day.

We let the desk know whenever we will be vacating our villa early and they always seem to appreciate it.

DVC has tried to make our departure simple, where there is no need to go to the front desk, express checkout provides our statement delivered to the door (however, you will need to stop at the desk if you want your bill before 8:00am) and it's not necessary to take room keys with us.

Many timeshares have a 10:00am checkout time and a stop at the desk is required to leave keys (and to let them know you have vacated the room). DVC has the latest checkout time I know of, although I'm sure someone will gladly share other experiences with their other well run timeshares.

You can even call mousekeeping from your room phone as you are leaving and let them know you are checking out. The phone is answered 24/7 so even if they won't start cleaning that night, they'll know they can clean your vacated room first thing the next morning. We always call and let mousekeeping know we are checking out irregardless of the time of the day.

can you get a late check out
just wondering and if so what time would it be and is there an extra charge

No- DVC does not usually allow late checkouts because of the time required to prepare the villas for the next guest. It can't hurt to ask, but it would be a rare occasion.

You can store luggage with the Bell staff, use the pool or go into the parks until you are ready to leave. You can use the locker facilities to change before leaving the resort.

Doc, Our other timeshare, WorldMark, generally has a 12:00 checkout policy. Like DVC... you can often do an express check-out without visiting the front desk, unless you have an exception (such as a DVD rental return).
