This is a little out of the ordinary but...

I am not quite 18 yet (will be in 3 months) and my mom and I planned to spend the weekend at POR. She cannot go now due to an illness in the family however a friend who is 19 and I will still be going. The room is under my mom's name. If my friend checks us in do you think there will be any problems?

If so any suggestions on how to solve them?

I would have your mom call and explain the situation. I believe you will have to have your mom's name taken off the ressies and your friend put on. As you are asked to show your ID upon check in.

I think it depends on how your mom reserved the room? If she booked through the Best Rate plan online I don't think they can change the name on the reservation until check in. And if it was booked that way the "adult" would have to show an AP at check-in. From what I have read on the website.
