Checking in before i have my annual pass

I know this has been asked, but I couldn't word it correctly in search! Sorry. But, I reserved a room at the annual pass discount. We will check in, go to a park to buy the annual pass. So, I won't have it at checkin. How does that work? I tried to order the pass thru DVC as we are members, but they told me to just get the pass at one of the parks.

You will have to show the annual passes at check in to receive the annual pass rate. Otherwise they will bump the rate back to the original prices.

Could you perhaps stop at the ticketing center prior to check in?

ohhhhhhhhhhh, I so did not want to hear that. But, it does make sense. I will do what I have to do.

It's not that big of a deal. We have done this a few times over the years. We just go to one of the parks (you can go to DTD as well) get the pass and go over to the hotel.

This is no problem, you have to show your voucher (which will be mailed to you when you preorder your AP though DVC, takes about 3 weeks to arrive) at check in, and the resort has the right to request that you bring the AP back once you pick it up to verify.

I had AP reservation check that this was ok on my last trip since we were getting in at 12:30AM. Yes no way to get the actual card when you get your AP through DVC.

I didn't have mine when I checked in. I converted it on the last day of our stay and brought it to the front desk. The CM thanked me for showing it, but told me it wasn't necessary.

If you are that close in I would call and talk to the manager at the resort and see what you need to do. It is not the end of the world to have to bus one of the parks and get the passes (will probably delay your checking in by a couple of hours) but hopefully they will accommodate you in some other way. If they say it is ok not to have a pass or voucher immediately be sure and get the name of the manager that you talked to.

Sound like you got a “lazy” or poorly informed MS person.

Alrighty then. It would be a shame to be that close to Ghiradelli and not have a Chocolate Soda or a warm brownie hot fudge sundae. This may not be so painful afterall!
