Checking In at the Fort with AP Voucher

Due to future scheduling ($$) considerations, it was cheaper to let our Annual Passes expire and then by new ones for our upcoming Oct trip. The question concerns checking in at FW with the AP vouchers and getting the AP rate. Has anyone checked into FW with just the vouchers, before getting the actual APs and gotten the AP rate? If they do not allow that, what ticket station is opened the soonest so we can run over and pick up the APs and then go back to the Fort?

I would like to know this too. I'm letting mine expire too, and want to get new one once I'm at Disney. I was thinking I may just stop off at down town Disney and buy new one once I'm there. As that's what I did before. I wish they would just let you do AP tickets at resort, it would make it so much easier or at least order them with room.

1) When I was asked to check folks in , they needed the AP.
2) No-AP, No-Discount.
3) You were not allowed to use the voucher.
. . . many campers never visited the parks
. . . they might come back several times until going to a park
. . . so, they did not validate the voucher and make it an AP
. . . FW managers stopped this by mandating the AP
4) You may or may not get a CM who will stick to the rules.
5) The rules clearly state AP, not the voucher.
6) And, the rules mention nothing of a 24-hr Grace Period.

We did this in February. Bought AP's online and used the print out to present to the CM at check in. Worked with no problems! We didn't get our actual AP's until the next day. Just remember, if you haven't done so already, you have to already have an AP discount applied to your reservation before check in.

Stinkerbell1973 - Thanks, yeah I have my cabin reservation at fort wilderness for December already made.
I'm just going to stop at down town Disney again and get my AP passes before going to the Fort.

What hours are the Down Town Disney ticket office open?(Where is it?) We like to check-in around 7:00 AM. Anyone know what time the Transportation Center Ticket office opens?

I have checked in many times with just the voucher and then went to DTD to activate it. I have then returned and shown them my annual pass. I have heard that you can change your voucher now at check in, just ask.

are AP discounts available on the campsites or just the cabins?

if available on the sites, in the past what % was the discount on average?

May need to rework the numbers to see if upgrading at least one of us to AP is worth it.

The AP is available for sites, we have it for this upcoming trip. That is why I am concerned about checking-in with just the voucher. It seems like the discount for the sites are few and far between. If you want the discount, you normally need to call very soon after they are released.

I don't know if the discount changes at different times of the year, but my reservation the week leading up to Christmas for a premium site went from 124/night to 106/night - 15%.

I tried to use my annual pass to get a discount when making the reservations back in May for this Dec and was told none avail..Have had annual passes now for 4 years,:confused3 which we spent at Ft Wilderness and have never received a discount..Are we doing something wrong??

We have used the AP discount everytime we stay at the cabins. We just keep checking on the website to see when they have them for our time frame and when they do we call and get them on the cabin. You need to check like 3 to 4 months before you go. Once the discounts are out they go really fast.

sbnewhampshire1 ~ AP discounts for Q4 were not available in May. The AP discounts for Q4 were released in early August, that's when I called and had mine applied. As PP said, you have to pay very close attention to when the discounts are released as they only hold a certain number of discounts per resort.
I saw the discount release on disboards. :)
