Checking excursion availability

The UTVs pulled up beside us at the California lighthouse. They were all smiling. Made me wish I had opted for that. Another future activity and call for a return trip. I believe the UTVs are street legal. So you could rent one or two and see various parts of the island and. Is it a beach or two.
They are definitely out of the norm for an excursion I was expecting, I am still watching for that as well. I can imagine the reviews for the resort being as you say, convenience is a lot of what you pay for. At least with Arashi, or another beach it is our time when to come and go.

Bonaire was the surprise for me. Golf carts. We rented a 2 person cart (they offered very few larger ones). For $104, you had use of the cart all day, gas included, no refueling required. A short walk from the port - and off you went. They have two routes to follow (pretty much applies to a car, too; the island isn’t big). We went the Southern route, flat and dry, with the water to one side nearly the entire trip. We saw donkeys, flamingos, cacti, crashing waves, kite surfers, salt ponds. Lots of wind (not in a bad way). And lots of other golf carts. The locals were patient with our low speed, never honking.

”The” brown donkey; he seems to hang out solo

Sorobon Beach’s restaurant, free restaurant, easy parking. Wind or kite surfing was happening off shore

I think this might be a rougher side of the island, wave action-wise

Flamingos; they are protected. You can only get so close.

Aruba is rather easy for Americans. Much of their tourism (their island, really) is set up to deal with American tourists - not just those on a port stop.

A good tour guide - like the one @Calantha used, will take you to many fun places. Look for one who can include a variety of activities. I saw lots of private tours on Bonaire.

Or just find one that will get you to a beach If that’s all you want to do.

Have fun!

OMG that sounds like a blast! I know the flamingoes and donkeys have been mentioned on some of the excursions, what a beauty in your picture. I am feeling better about exploring outside of Disney, you are a gem, thank you!
