I just checked PVD->MCO rates and they are 49$ each way!!! I already had a reservation with them, so I called them and they gave me SW credit for the price difference! I can use this 180$ for the future flights with them, which is fine.

Check your rates and call them!:Pinkbounc :bounce:

Yeah, they dropped the rates, but it doesn't matter for me.

I've been checking fares from PVD-MCO for weeks and all the promo fares have been sold out.

My dates aren't flexible either and I have to coordinate them with my families flight times (they are coming from another aiport), so I am completely out of luck with SWA!

Very disappointed. I'm not going to pay $180 for a one way ticket...especially on a plane that isn't even assigned seating!

Free4Life11, keep checking - even if some Promotional fares dates/times show up as "sold" right now, they might become available later (it happened to me) - maybe because people cancel.. Depends on how far from now your dates are and how busy is the time when you are going.. Good luck!

Have you looked at the option of flying into Tampa? It is only about an hour from Tampa to WDW.

As to paying 180.00 for a fare, what does it cost to have an assigned seat on another airline, that will, no doubt cancel or change your flight?

I just meant to say if I HAD to pay $360 to fly, I wouldn't choose Southwest. If I didn't have to pay that much I would fly Southwest, anyday.

I think as of now I am just going to take a Greyhound. $158 you can't beat that. Plus I figure it will be an adventure...lol...hopefully.

Thanks for the heads-up. We saved $21 per ticket on a different flight to St Louis, which means I'll have $61 credit for our flights to MCO in January.

I know. I got a $95 round trip from Nashville. It has not been that cheap in over a year!!!

Oh, I bet it will be an adventure. God bless you!!!! I think I would pay the 360.00 to fly. :) My idea of driving, or having someone else do the driving, to WDW is to drive to Bradley and fly. LOL

I had no idea the SW would give you a credit if your flight needed to be canceled or changed no matter if it was a promo rate or not....I really want to go to WDW this summer with the new $49 rate I almost couldn't pass it up....and thought I would have to ...DH's job situation in tricky right now and I don't know 100% if he could make it and if the rest of us would go without him....

But after finding out about the credit I decided to book the low rate on the dates I figured I want to go and if it doesn't work out in a few weeks I'll just use the credit to book my Dec flight because we are definately going then...

Gotta Love SW....so glad they fly out of philly now...

Thank you thank you thank you ! Because of your post my SIL (her first trip and my nephews) will be getting a refund on her cc for $240.00 ! Her flight dropped from $179.00 to an unbelievable $116.00 per person ! I didnt know that they refunded on cc's I always thought it was in the form of a voucher. But no she said it will be credited back to her cc after travel is complete! so thank you sooo much!

You just made my day!!! I saved $60 on my flight in May which I'll apply to my trip in October!!!!

Thanks again!!!!! :jumping1:

And, as an FYI to anyone who doesn't think the new fares apply to their current flights, try calling Southwest (1-800-I-FLY-SWA) because I got the discoutned fare for both legs of our trip even though one showed as being unavailable according to the website. And because ours was simply a "Fare Sale Downgrade" and not a change in the actual flight, we can get it refunded to our credit card by sending a receipt to their Refund Dept, and not worry about getting a credit voucher.

I just came over here to post this. I just discovered it today, but you all beat me to it. I saved $40 on 4 tickets. This is great. I am only paying $95.20 round trip from ORF!!!

I was hoping to get in on this SWA deal by going to WDW June 9th-16th and paying $49/each way from BWI, however, my travel companion cannot go until the 23rd and the fare is $79/each way. Does anyone have an opinion as to whether SWA will extend the offer?

Thanks

Woo hoo! Originally I was going to fly in for my trip then drive home with some friends, but now we're flying back for $48 each to MSY! My original flight is still $84, but I'm just excited about having five more hours in the parks! So, really, I didn't save money since I ended up booking the great rate, but I am saving time!:hyper:
Thanks for the post!!!

Did Southwest tell you this because when I called yesterday to get the lower rate she said this was a non-refundable rate. Is your's non-refundable?

Thanks for this post!!! I saved $64 each ticket and have 5 tickets for a savings of $320!!! She said she's giving me a credit and I'd rather have the credit on my card.

thanks, you guys are wonderful for thinking of everyone else on the boards to put up these posts.

Thankyou so much for posting this. I just got a $100 credit ($50 each ticket) for my trip in May. :earseek: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Another Woo Hoo!!!

Even though my particular flights were all showing unavailable, I called for the heck of it and got a $90 credit for our three tickets. The agent told me that if any of the flights that day show availability, you can get the credit for the difference. If all of the flights are totally booked, then that discounted fare is considered "sold out".
