Check your smoke detector batteries!!!

Many of us will change our clocks this weekend and go back to standard time. That's a good time to change smoke detector batteries so you know they're working properly!

Good reminder! Can you remind me to change my furnace filter each month? (I'm not being sarcastic, I really can't remember to do this monthly).

Thanks for the reminder! It's a good idea to make sure the smoke detectors are functioning too by lighting a match under them.

I just learned that there are water detectors too.....so you don't get flooded out if a hot water heater or something else....decides to let go. Thanks to Dan Murphy and my plumber for that tip.

We just put fresh batteries in all 4 of our smoke detectors yesterday!

Our smoke detectors all went off 3 times this past week (last Sat and twice Tues- once at 4am) so we know they are working. We had a problem with the power vent off the furnace which was replaced yesterday.
