I wanted to add my aadvantage # to my reservation and noticed that both DD2 and I had the same seat #. I had picked my seats when I purchased the flight, but AA changed the plane and I guess the seat #s didn't transfer correctly. They had DD2 and I sitting in the same seat for both trips which I know would have been an issue at check-in if I had never noticed. DH and DS5 were okay. We're on a larger plane now (maybe thanks to the merger??) and I chose new seats (a little further back in the plane) without issue.

Just wanted to give a heads up since I was never notified by AA that my seats changed.

Always good to check your reservation regularly to catch things like this on any airline.

I check every couple of week and then daily right before flights. I estimate at least 50% of the time, our seats get changed and never a notification.

Check even up to the time you get a boarding pass. We had a last minute change in planes and our seats got jumbled.

agreed.... Your seats can be changed even AFTER you printed off your boarding pass at home the night before

There's been a lot of re-numbering and re-gauging on AA of late, but virtually all of it has ended by now since they have the fully merged scheduled in effect. Still good to check, but fortunately mostly over.

Also remember, when AA re-does anything on your flight, call DME and get it updated! I just had to do that. :)
