Check you Budget reservations carefully !!!!!

I went online tonight to check our November reservation with Budget and was appalled to see that their online confirmation is $30 MORE than my email confirmation !! I called the reservations number and spoke to an agent AND a supervisor. They told me that I had modified my reservation and that's the reason for the difference in price. What they failed to understand is that the email comfirmation I was reading was the one I received when I modified the reservation, NOT the original quote. (BTW, the modification I made was to move our pick-up time up by 30 minutes....Pick up 11/11 - 5:30pm, Drop off 11/14 - 10 am). The supervisor tried to give me some song and dance about the rate at 11:30am Thursdays being higher than it is at 12pm Thursdays. Hello, I'm picking the car up at 5:30pm on Thursday, so that shouldn't be a problem.......duhhhh.

I'll be calling their customer service department tomorrow morning to find out what the heck is going on and unless they change their computer to match my email, I will be cancelling my reservation. I will then be calling the BBB to file a complaint about questionable billing practices.

I'll also be reserving a car with National ($62.04 for 3 days rental off the Emerald Aisle).......they have never tried to pull this kind of crap in all the times I've rented with them. Somehow the $11 taxi fare from the National office in Cape Canaveral to the Wonder is looking better than the Budget shuttle........not as much of a hassle, that's for sure.

All I can say is thank God I'm anal enough to keep every confirmation email for every trip in it own planning folder, or we would have been in for a big surprise when we arrived in Orlando. Sorry for the rant, but I'm fit to be tied right now.
 
After hearing about all the troubles with Budget and their pricing I sent them an email about my concerns specifically. They responded back and said that none of the thing I had complained about in my email should happen and the rate I got online should not change etc etc etc. SO I printed that email and will be taking it with me so show proof if anything goes wrong. My email also mentioned the ins that they try to push on you and in my email it said you are allowed to decline it. But we'll see what happens!
 
UGH! You're right! I modified a reservation last week and now that I look at my price online, it's not the same as my e-mail confirmation. Does this always happen at Budget?

I just got off the phone and "there's nothing they can do". Lovely. I have an e-mail confirmation that they say will not be honored because that's not what's in their system.
 

I just checked mine and it's $ .48 cheaper! Looks like Budget modified it so my pickup time is the same as when my flight arrives (I had given myself time to make it through the terminal and to their kiosk), somehow making my taxes 48 cents less!
 
I had the same thing happen a few weeks ago after doing a small modifiction online and did not click on the "accept" but did phone and complain and they changed the rate back to the original for me with the modification done.:D
