going to arrive in Orlando @ 11:00am, plan on using ME to get to POP, then dinner at 6:30 at 1900 park fare. Day2 is Magic Kingdom day, no real plans for meals. Day3 is a no park day, we have ressies for the luau at the poly, but my son is not too into the food there, so son and I might do to ESPN club, while wife and daughter go to luau, Day4 is animal kingdom, so we have an 830 ressie for Donalds, then the rest of that day in AK, for our first time there. Day 5 we will do the studios, no meal plans as of yet, any suggestions?
what do you think??

My fav at MGM is Sci Fi. It makes you feel as if you are in a drive in! The theming is great and the burgers are very yummy!

TS restaurants are filling FAST for the free dining time frame. If I were you, I'd start getting my ADR's set or you'll be using your ts credits for burgers & fries!!! Made mine before the free dining promo came out but I hear tell of having to settle for not-so-great meal times already at the more popular places! Good luck & I hope you get everything you want!!

What are the dates of your trip? What are the ages of the folks in your party?
Are you going to be on the Dining Plan? Have you been to WDW before? Do you want to spend the time it takes for a TS meal, or is park touring your priority? The answers to all of these questions will help in giving you good advice.
Without knowing, I am going to assume you are on the Dining Plan and want to eat one TS a day, for my advice. For your MK day for TS meals, you could eat in the park at LTT or CP both Character Meals, but different characters. The Plaza Restaurant is a bit quieter. Tony's gets mixed reviews. Or you could try one of the Monorail Resorts for a TS dinner. Again, depending on the makeup of your group, you could try Chef Mickey's for a buffet at the Contemporary with lots of Character interaction, or 1900 Park Faire at the GF. 'OHana at the Poly is an "All you care to eat" meal. The setting is beautiful overlooking the lagoon and the Castle in the distance, and the atmosphere is relaxed and fun. They have activities for the children throughout the meal.
I don't know how old DS is, but ESPN is fun for the Sports minded. It is typical "Pub Grub" in a sports bar setting. There are TV's everywhere, even in the RestRooms.
On your MGM day, you can eat at the Studios TS (I find the MGM Studios to haVe the worst CS in the world.). We liked the 50's Prime Time Cafe, but I have not eaten at Sci-Fi or Brown Derby. We ate at H & V 3 weeks ago, and In My Opinion it was awful, I would not go back. I have not tried Mama Melrose either. You also have the world of the Boardwalk a short boat ride or walk away.
Check out the Restaurant menus on allearsnet.com and see what interests you. This will also help you to budget your food.
Good Luck in your choices.
