We are booked in a Grand Villa for Tuesday after Memorial Day. what’s the chance of the room being ready early? Do they let you know if it is? We are arriving to MCO around 9 am and trying to plan our day. We do not have park tickets and have a 5pm reservation for Home Coming. I am wondering if it is likely we will get access to the room in time to shower and change before dinner.

One never knows. We have had our room ready by noon and as late as after 4pm. My suggestion is that even though you might/might not get a text, if you happen to be around the resort, check at the desk. Plenty of times we were told our room was ready.

Our trip a few weeks ago we did not receive a text saying, "your room is not ready" (or whatever they text). We arrived at the resort later than the check-in time I put in on line (earlier than the 4pm check-in time). I thought it was odd so I went to the desk. We lucked out, our room was ready.

If we are exhausted and don't go to a park or DS, we hang around the resort or pool (we pack a bathing suit). I will check at the desk maybe once if we have not received a text by 3pm or so. I know we need a little patience. Don't want to bug them constantly. Good luck!

policy is:
## Earliest time room will be ready is 4:00pm. It may be after 5:00 pm
Many/most times it is early afternoon.

Reality is:
**** Grand Villa take several hours to clean. Rarly are not booked EVERY NIGHT.
Gst do not check out earlier than 11:00.
Because if these facts, 3:00 would be the earliest I would count on getting into room.

I would be sure to use online checkin and include your estimated time of arrival. They used to let you put in an actual time, e.g. 9 AM, but I think that now you can only tell them “before 4 PM” or “after 4 PM.” At least that way they’ll know you’re arriving earlier than stated checkin time. Then when you actually do arrive, as suggested above I’d stop at the front desk and let them know you’re there. Hopefully that will put you in line for the first GV that’s ready.

We did get our GV at RIV around 2:30 ish in February….but they said that getting it much before 4:00 pm was unlikely,,,but we were there only the one night so they were able to assign us to a room that was just starting to be cleaned when we got there at 11:30 am.

The day after a holiday? Seems very likely that all the GVs will be occupied that Monday night (not sure which resort, but the same would be true for any of them). And if they're occupied, it's very likely the family in that room won't be leaving much before 11AM. You should probably plan on getting in mid to late afternoon. Agree with stopping by the front desk to let them know you'll take the first available, if you're willing to take that. It might help a little.

At some resorts, you can shower in the locker rooms of the resort's fitness center. I've showered on check-out day, not check-in day, but you could shower on check-in day if you plan for it (meaning having your clean clothes readily available, as well as things like a comb and toiletries if you can't use the ones supplied in the locker room.)

It could happen, but there is no way to know. We've gotten into our room several hours early on occasion, but there have been just as many times we got in late - as in after 5PM. My rule of thumb is to make no plans for arrival day that require us to have access to our room prior to 5 or 6 PM so I don't have to stress.

If it helps, Homecomin' is a very casual restaurant, so no need to dress up.

Thanks for all the info. Maybe I will try for a later dinner reservation.
