I appoligize if this has been asked, I didn't see it in the search.

I think I read somewehre check-in is at 2 or 3? If that is true, is that really when you have to check in? Can you chck-in earlier? I know that your room might not be ready if you get there earlier, but how many people have checked in early and had there room ready?

You can check in any time but you may or may not get your room. If it's not ready, you'll still get anything attached to your room (tickets etc). They'll also give you a number to call if you're heading to the parks or elsewhere.

I've usually checked in between 11 am & noon and have gotten my room except at the Poly. It was ready about 2:30.

Our room has not been ready more often than not, but we just leave our luggage with bell services and go have fun till it's ready. :goodvibes

Check in is officially 3PM for non-DVC resorts and 4PM for DVC resorts. That means you can expect your room after that time. You can check in at 6AM if you really want to, but don't expect a room to be ready then. You may be lucky and get your room before 3PM or 4PM, but it's better to be surprised and happy, than expect it early and be angry and frustrated.

And if you check in early and your room still isn't ready, head to the parks and have fun.

On our last trip, we checked in at Pop Century at 2pm and our room wasn't ready until after 5pm. The next morning we checked into Port Orleans Riverside at 9am and they had our room waiting for us.

There are a lot of variables. It depends on resort type, how busy the resort was the night before, how many check outs they have that day, what time of day you try to check in, how many of your room type are coming available, etc.

I've checked in as early as 5:30am (I was checking in on my way to work to save time after work) and there wasn't a room ready and of course, I didn't really think there would be. I've never had any luck getting a room earlier than official check in time at any DVC resort, but those rooms require a lot more cleaning than a standard hotel room (especially the rooms with full kitchens) so I understand that as well. At the regular Disney resorts, I have been able to get in a room sometimes as early as an 11am check in, but typically it runs between 2 and 4pm. I have had to wait as late as 7pm for a room during very busy times.

I say check in whenever you get there, leave the luggage with bell services if you need to and go have fun.

Ahhhhhhhhhh, I didn't know they gave you your park passes. That's great to know!!! :thumbsup2 So we could get there early and spend that time at the park. Will they take our luggage to our room if our room becomes ready while we are park hopping?

Yes you can check in early & if your room is not ready you will be given the key to the world so you can get into the parks. Bell services hold your luggage for you & gives you a card with your name on it & how many bags you have. When you go back to check & see if room is ready or if you call front desk. When room is ready you have to call bell services for your luggage & they will bring it up to you. Only when using DME (Disney Magical Express) do they put it in your room but you will be in most cases already in your room.:)

I have been lucky each time we have check in the past our room was ready or just being clean so just a short wait.:goodvibes
