What are the benefits of on-line check in? We r trying to decide if we should do the on-line check in or not.
Any input/experiences appreciated! TIA!

It's designed to reduce the amount of time it takes you to get your KTTW cards and welcome packet once you arrive at the resort.

You pre-enter all necessary information (CC# for room charging (optional), mobile number for room ready notification, estimated arrival time on check-in day and estimated departure time on check-out day).

When you arrive at the resort, there will be a dedicated line for those that have completed the on-line check-in process. There the CM will hand you your welcome packet which contains your KTTW cards and resort information.

Personally the one time I tried it they totally messed up my reservation. They couldn't find it when I tried to check in at the resort. Some one at the resort cancelled my reservation and re-booked it under one of my friends names who I had added to the reservation. On top of that I ended up with points in a Holding account. Never got that completely straightened out but I didn't seem to be missing any useable or bankable points. On top of all that I was not able to use my KTTW card for room charging privileges at all during the trip despite numerous trips to the front desk to try to fix the problem. I will never use online check-in again. Needless to say it didn't save me any time at check-in or during my entire trip.

Thanks for the replies.
Now I'm wondering if i would have a better shot at getting the room type I requested though? Thoughts?

Rooms are pre-assigned so I don't believe it makes a difference either way.

We typically arrive late evening to the resort, so online check-in has been a godsend for us! I love it!

We love it! It makes check in a breeze for us.

Sometimes I use it, sometimes I don't. It really depends upon my traveling party, and whether I want everyone to have charging rights on my CC.

I have it really doesn't save me a LOT of time...a little time, yes, but enough to justify the sole use of online check-in. I do like putting in my cell number and CC myself, rather than going through the front desk personnel. While the vast majority of CM are outstanding and trustworthy, it only takes one bad apple to compromise you CC...and even then, the CM may not even know it. There was a case a few years ago where a bad CM had put a CC skimming device between the keyboard and the terminal, so any CM using the terminal to check people in unknowingly compromised the CC info.

We use it all the time. When travelling with 2 parties arriving at different times, the first party can check in for the 2nd party and get their room keys and even the parking pass.

You still do have the flexibility to request a particular room/building in the area you are assigned to. The CM no longer has to go through the whole spiel of describing the resort, telling you where the pools, food, etc. are.

I find it very helpful.
