Can I just say how refreshing it is to read this thread? I have been noticing alot of "Debbie Downers" on the board lately, and I am loving how excited and encouraging it is on this thread!! I haven't won, but I have been loving living vicariously through you guys!!!

I heard from my contact from DL - she said baggage fees are not included and are out of pocket expenses.
we are going try and avoid this and pack lightly - we may buy a bag there if needed for things we buy and pay for one checked bag if we have to.

Thought I had finally figured out my dates and now my husband's office has problems with our 1st choice and my office has problems with our 4th choice. Glad I'm getting this together before the letter arrives asking me to select dates.

How are the crowds in Disneyland around Wednesday, December 13 to Monday, December 17 or Tuesday, December 18 (if we can leave on a blackout date)? Will it be wall to wall people? Will we be able to get on Indy?

I looked at the Touringplans website and they estimate the resort level will be 7 and the parks 6.5 to 7 out of 10. It stays at that level until December 22. Hope that helps.

Thanks! I just heard back from our DL contact and she verified that she got my paperwork and my request for GCH, but can't promise we'll get it. She said I'll hear back soon so I hope that means tomorrow.

I've been reading along for a while now...living vicariously through all you lucky winners!!! Congratulations everyone!!!

I had a couple of false "OMG did I win?" moments the last two days. After dark last night a big box truck stopped in front of my house. It was too dark to see the logo, but it was shaped like a FedX truck. My heart actually raced until he drove away. No envelope for me.

Then this afternoon I got a phone call saying I had recently entered a sweepstakes and I WON...a 4 night cruise to the Bahamas with my choice of cruise lines and all I have to pay is $98 in taxes. This was not the call I've been waiting for! And it sounds like a scam to me so I didn't give him any info. I got the guy's numbers so I can google it. I'd hate to walk away from a prize, but don't want to be stupid either! Last time my husband won a prize it was reported as income and our tax withholding ended up paying the taxes.

Anyway, let's hope there are more disboards winners before all is said and done

I call my WDW contact. I have only had contact with him via email, I was planning on leaving a message but was suprised when he answered. He was so nice! I asked him if he had any idea if our travel dates/hotel/flights had been scheduled yet and if so would we receive the info by email, snail mail etc. I told him we were trying to keep our employers updated as far as the dates we requested off. He said that he had us down for June 2nd at the Grand Flordian and had us listed for our additional dates at Pop.
He also said at this time he did not have info on the airfare or the rates for Pop. We would not need to put any deposit down for the extra days at Pop we could just pay for them when we checked in. He said he was working on processing travel plans for winners who have travel dates prior to ours, other contests etc. but that we should have ours within 30 days. I should have asked him this but didn't think of it at the time. There is a special offer for discounted rooms at Pop the week we will be there but you have to book before the 29th. Do you think the rate they will give us will be cheaper or should we put a reservation in just in case.

All this planning talk makes me want to go so much! I was planning on waiting until the baby was three because I swore I wouldn't take an unpotty trained kid, but if I don't win one of these I don't know if I can wait so long! That and id really like to apply for the moms panel this fall and I know you have to visit within 13 months...what to do,.what to do??? Any hints on how to convince the hubby?

Thank you! I will feel better about it when I get it in writing. I am so afraid to take any vacation request off the books at work until I get something more official. Don't give up hope! You might just be a winner too before the end of this!

I don't think the rate will be cheaper. They quoted watkinsme $318 for DLH, and there's a gay days rate of $179 for the same date.

I'm so glad you got the info Brent. Just think, if it weren't for this board you would just be sitting at home waiting, waiting, waiting not knowing when you'd be contacted. Luckily you were able to get the phone number and call without going totally crazy! Did you tell him that this will be your honeymoon? I really hope they upgrade you guys or do something special.
