LOL! I bet people would look at that and be like "Wow.. where is that? Is that a new park overseas? Amazing.. the detail is impeccable.. What theming.. Magic at its best!"

I LOVE UNIVERSAL and Disney. For the past two years, and this year, we go to Disney for 8 nights and Universal wraps up our vacation. Last year we stayed 2 days this year 4. I absolutely hail the Hard Rock Hotel, can't wait to go!!!! NOT A SINGLE COMPLAINT ABOUT EITHER PLACE.

No debates. Just a place to give a smile and a hello if you (like me) feel a little exasperated on this board lately.

Once upon a time when I was single and had tons of disposible income I was the proud owner of APs to all of the major Orlando themeparks. By taking advantage of the Bealls deal I will once again be able to claim that title!

On our Easter trip I took my 2 kids to IOA. There are still a lot of rides that they arent big enough to go on but they had a blast. My Ds keeps asking me when are we goping back to see the other side of Universal.

I may spend more of my time on Disney property when I am in Fla but I do love Universal ( and Seaworld too) and would never bash it.

It IS magic at its best Univesal magic.

Before we moved down to Florida we hadn't been to Universal since 1995. We never wanted to "waste" a day of our Disney vacation there.

Well last Fall, since we now live here, we gave Universal a chance and we LOVED it. We had such a great time, we couldn't believe we'd missed going there all those years. We bought AP's that day and have been too many times to count since.

I even convinced my sister & BIL to give Universal a try when they came down to visit, they didn't even go to Disney. They loved it too and can't wait to return.

Former Universal cynic, reformed! :charac4: Oh and Spiderman- best ride EVER!

As much as I loved Universal and part of Disney, I found out that some Disney fanatics are the most ignorant, narrow minded, conservative and arrogant of a bounch. They cannot tolerate anything except the mouse. The way they talk about Universal being so igonrant and wrong just make me wonder their education and mentality level. Disney fans epitomized how notoriously biased towards one side a fan could be.

Yes, the bashing gets old. I'm a theme park junkie -- actually, I'm just a vacation junkie! I love it all.

However, I'm a Florida resident, and USO seems to be taking better care of our family in this regard. Disney's newest promotions are not FL resident friendly; USO's current promotions are. We will concentrate our vacation in September at USO because of this.

Quality dining and real adult beverages is a major factor in our vacations (and not "free dining" by paying rack hotel rates and full-price park tix), and IMHO, the food/drink at City, USO & IOA is just so much better than the restaurants at Disney. Sure, we love Disney parks and shopping, but we'll eat our main meals at USO.

Us folk who love both truly have it made!

The funny part is that it's true. Some ignorant Disney fanatic would say this. The (really) sad part is that they would quickly turn around, enter a UO bashing thread, and emphatically claim "Universal has no theming. It's Six Flags on steroids!" Yeah, as if they've even been there....

It's too bad we have to speak out about the kind of things we see on this board, because I've actually seen much worse on others. One specific board, which will go unnamed simply because I refuse to give them any free exposure whatsoever, is downright pathetic. I can't even visit said site without feeling like I'm losing brain cells at a frighteningly rapid rate. It ain't *magical*, that's for sure.
