You can check in early. If your site is available, they will let you set up. If not, they will give you a card with a phone number on it to call later, or you can stop in at the desk at the outpost reception area and get your site number. They will direct you to the parking lot adjacent to the outpost to park your trailer while you wait. We checked in last month about 11 am. our site was ready by noon and we were set up by 1pm. ::MickeyMo

thanks...also
just so i understand this right. when you get there you can go to the drive-up check-in and if your site isn't ready you go to a parking area inside? in other words if you site ISN"T ready, you don't have to turn around and go back out. hope that ? makes sense.
thanks,
dee

They would probably tell you to park in the car lot and you will pull thru the check in station and swing WIDE so that you can make the right hand turn thru the gate into the lot.

We'll be arriving in 6 days!!! :goodvibes

You can park in the lot closest to the reception building. You won't have to go through the gate again, just follow along where the busses go. If you park in the farther lot by the kennels, you will have to go through the guard gate again but he will direct you through the same route the busses take to avoid waiting in line with those checking in. :earsboy:

We checked-in at 7:15AM for our weekend stay 2 weeks ago and our site was available so we went to it and set-up. Every time we have gone and our site or another site was not available for our RV we were told to go to the BIG parking lot and park there while we waited for something to become available. The lot adjacent to the Outpost is on the small side so that is why we have been told to go to the big lot.

Will be back at FW in 2 weeks for our 32nd anniversary.

Last time we were there the CM made us got to the big lot which means you have to go back out past the guard shack to the road and then over to the big parking lot. We just had a popup and the small lot was not very full. I even ask the check in CM if we could wait at in the small lot so we would not have to wait in the check in line again but he said we had to go to the other lot. We have almost always been able to get in early but this CM was just not wanting to let us in. He told us we would be in the 2000 so we went ahead and got our golf cart and went to look at the loop and saw it was almost ½ empty. So I called from the comfort station and he insisted they had no sites available. When I told him there were plenty of sites that were ready he gave me some bull about it being illegal for him to give me a site before the 11am check out time because it legally belonged to the people who rented it the night before. I don’t know why this guy was being so difficult. (Probably what he thought too but hay I’m the customer) I called him back at 11 and he told us our site was now ready and gave us the number. It turned out to be the one we had wanted all along that had been empty since 8 am. So I went back to the big parking lot and had to wait in a long line to get past the guard shack again. What a pain.

I really hate the setup they have now with all traffic going by the guard shack. It can be a real hassle to have to wait in line at the guard shack at to get back in after driving to a park or off property. I noticed on this last trip they moved the old key gates and set them up by the post the separates the two parking lots. I hope they remove the post and let guest enter with a card through the other parking lot.

I guess if I had a map i would comprehend this better. big lot, small lot..... etc...tomorrow i will try to find a map that will hopefully have this so i can get a picture. :confused3

this made me laugh :rotfl2: it reminded me of the movie "meet the parents" where the guy was waiting to board the plane and lady wouldn't let him board because she hadn't called his row yet but there was no one else waiting.

Almost on my way................................................
