We are headed to SSR in 11 days and was wondering....
Does it matter what time to check in? I have asked for Congress Park area, I was wondering is it the luck of the draw, or check-in early for the "best" views/areas??

Thanks!

My motto is the earlier the better....can't hurt:confused3
I always take 1st flight out....

In Nov, we checked in at about 2:30 and our room wasn't ready. We have checked in at 7AM and our room wasn't ready until nearly 6PM. We checked in at 1:30 last month and our room was ready. Go figure.

I think if you have requests, they will try to accomodate them. If you don't, you get anything available. But I bet you could ask to see what else they have.

The best "view" and closed to HH I ever got at OKW... I checked in at MIDNIGHT LOL! (I read all the get up before the sun and check in posts. IMHO it really makes no difference. A LOT depends on things beyond your control.... number of visitors, rooms out of service for one reason or another etc)

I've started checking in really early and telling the CM at check-in what my request is with a nice, friendly smile and the caveat of "I'll be going to the parks and so there is no rush to get me in a room - take as long as you need." :goodvibes

I've gotten really great rooms.

:thumbsup2

We take the first flight from our airport to MCO and check in @ 8-9 am. Since we're always so happy to be "home", it's automatic that we'll be smiling when we're at the front desk. :goodvibes
We've been lucky, but then, it doesn't really matter to us when the room is ready, as long as it's by bedtime.

The times that I have ordered food like a cake, or fruit basket to be in the room I've gotten exactly what I've asked for. My assuption was that since there was a food order they needed to have a room number to deliver it to early. That could be a complete coincidence, but I like to think not.:)

Our last visit in May we stayed at SSR. We got to the resort at 3:00PM. Our room was already assigned and was in a not ready status. It was in Congress Park, the area we requested so I didn't ask for another. It took them until 6:00 to move us in. :sad2:

We got to SSR at 11:00 am in late June. I had requested something in the Springs and they told me that they put me in Congress Park and that our room was not ready. I had a food order that they just put in the Bell Office. Our room was not ready until sometime after four (that is when we stopped checking and just went to the parks). We came back at 9 PM and our luggage was there.

Bingo - this is the best strategy, and the one I always use. Like you, I've always gotten exactly what I requested.

Thanks for all the info.. We will be headed down from Savannah Ga, (with a stop at Daytona Beach to get DW a bathing suit at this store she loves), then on to SSR... We may even get a few min of beach time at Daytona, and then leisurely check into SSR.

DW says-'Cant check in till 4 pm anyway, might as well enjoy the beach for an hour or so....' So, we will probably check in around 4 or so....

I am like others-HEY, I am at the "world", I don't care really what room I get, as long as it is a 2BR and we are on property, and we will just enjoy the pool the first day anyway....
