We will be heading to Orlando the day before our scheduled check in day, staying offsite somewhere, the night before as we will be arriving very late. We should be getting to WDW around 9 or 10 am and cant check in until 4. How do we work that? Can we park at our resort and just head to the parks? Or should we head to the park first with all of our luggage and then head to check in around 4? Can Someone please explain this process to me?

Thanks

You can check your luggage at the hotel. They will store it for you until your room is ready. If your room is not ready when you check in, they will give you a card with a telephone number to call for your room assignment later in the day. Have fun!

Thanks. Are the rooms ever available at 10 am?

Usually not in the villas. As they are so big they require a lot of cleaning time on turnover day, hence the later 4PM check-in.

Depending on when you visit and your room requests, your room may be available before 4. When we went in Jan. our room was ready at 1pm. If you are making hard plans, though, it's best to stick to the 4pm timeframe. That way any earlier is a bonus.

When you arrive at the hotel you can Pre-register (anytime after 7am). They will go through the entire check in process, issue you Key to the world cards and everything. Then, if the room is not ready, they can store your luggage and they will issue you the card to call back. It is very convient that way. You can call from any house phone (or cell phone) and find out your room number so when you return you can go right to the room, thus not having to wait in line at the front desk again. Depending on when you are arriving you have the potential to get a room early. It all depends on if they were sold out the night before. If they have rooms that were not used the night prior in the category that you are booked in you could get lucky and get a rooom when you arrive. Otherwise no harm done, you are pre-registered and can enjoy the parks until the room is ready. Also (especially in the Villas since there are not that many rooms) the earlier you check in (pre-register) the better chance you have of getting a room that is "more desirable". They do not pre-assign rooms (unless you have medical needs or are traveling with another party, so they are first come first serve, the earlier you check in (room ready or not) the better chance you have of getting some options in where you want the room to be, smoking or non,etc...

I have done this at the regular WL. Show up the first day of my visit at 730AM, have bell services take my luggage, park my card, do pre-checkin and get the car permit and tickets and head to the parks. They will give you a card to call to check when your room is ready and your key is already recorded on your ticket card so you don't even need to hit the front desk again.

As stated you can go over to the Lodge when you arrive and check in and leave your luggage. Then plan on doing something fun while your room is being cleaned.

Also please realize that regardless of what time you actually arrive, check in is 4 pm.

You would not believe how many comments I see about guests giving the Front Desk CMs a hard time because they checked in at 8am and did not get their room until 3 pm. Actually what they did not realize was they actually got their room an hour "early". They should have been thrilled instead of complaining. ;)

Hey, you can take advantage of the valet (free to members, $7/day otherwise) and then you can pull up to the WL, and they'll take care of your luggage right there. (Well they would help you right there even if you do not use valet...but is sooo easy that way!) We love that feature of the Deluxe hotels! Then you can head right into the lobby (the lobby is beautiful!) and after check in go directly to the dock for the MK or the buses to the other parks. Piece of cake!
When you call the number on the card given to you at check in, they will let you know if your room is ready yet. As soon as it is, your key given to you at check in will work so you can go directly to your room. All you have to do is call bell services for them to bring up your luggage. They were very fast when we were there last week!
Enjoy!
