Check-in at POR?

We are driving to WDW in 12 days - yahoo! We're planning to arrive around 1PM, and are hoping to get to MK for a few hours before our ADR at Ohana at 6:30. So, what is the check-in process? Should we hang around the resort until 3PM? Or should we check in early and then carry bags in late that night? We can leave the luggage in our car, but we will likely have a few groceries. I don't think we'll get back to the resort until after Wishes that night.

Any thoughts?

We stayed @ POR June 06 & 07.

On 07 trip we arrived at the resort around 1 PM. When I
went to check in the CM said our room was ready and away
we went. I guess it doesn't hurt to try.

Check in and if your room is not ready then leave the bags with bell services and the resort will give you a number to call back at 3 and will inform you of your room #

Definitely go and try to check-in when you get there. We checked in at 12:30pm our last trip and our room was ready!

on our last trip, we checked in at 10.30 am and the room was ready. it's not always exactly 3 pm. not sure if true or not, but i heard the earlier you check in, the better chances of getting the room request you wanted. yucky for me since we are checking in around 11.00 pm this time, but great for those who get there early. it will be so much nicer to get in from mk and not have to still put groceries away. you can go right to sleep.

Definitely check in as soon as you can. If not, you'll be in a long line of those arriving and checking in at 3 pm. We usually get there around lunch time with no line. If your room isn't ready they will give you a card with a phone number on it. You call later and they'll tell you if your room is ready or not.

What about our luggage/groceries? Should we leave them in the car? Or do they deliver to our room later for us while we're at the park?

if ordering from someplace like garden grocer, the front desk will hold it until the room is ready. if you are bringing them with you, leave them in your car, i would recommend getting/bringing a cooler if you are having anytying perishable.

We have stayed at POR about 6 times and have NEVER had to wait until 3pm to check in. Usually have arrived between 11am and noon and a room was ready for us!
